Goofy Footer 539 Posted May 21, 2023 the @Mr.JAJA selfie is great! Good to see you out there and enjoying it. @shutterrev excellent sunset pic with the @tntmo CT Monster 125 @padu you're smiling in ever picture - awesome energy @DSM8 great pic of Green River, Utah. I may need to bribe you with burritos for info on that area for an upcoming trip. Looks similar to what @Bagstr and @PbdBlue rode from La Sal, Utah staying at the 3 Steps Hideaway: @Zubb that looks like a big low tide in San Quintin. We'll see how many swigs of "medicine" it takes before we pry Secret Spot info out of you! @moto_rph excellent contribution! how are you healing up? @Pokey151 is that the water near Bee Canyon? @350thumper I'm sure you have some great desert sunset pics to share! @paulmbowers that's a classic pic of the dustman @Covered in Dust. Maybe you and @DSM8 know, aren't permits are now required for White Rim Trail? (unsure if they were in the past)

Yes, permits are required for white rim, and they can be secured online- I've done it. They have a maximum number of visitors per day.

I may start a different thread on it actually

I may start a different thread on it actually Based on my research, the primary factor in direction is time of day. If one goes in the morning and heads east, one may have the sun in one's eyes for the duration of the journey. Last time I rode it, I started in the dark (nobody is surprised) and had no problems with the sun. Light traffic, out of the canyon by 1 without any dawdling. I love morning rides.

I may start a different thread on it actually I don't know if it's preferred, but we ran White Rim Road clockwise. I would suspect this to be the more challenging way since there are two significant climbs you have to pay attention to. However, we all know when you reverse a route it becomes a new day (gpx files attached) Allow 8 hours minimum seat time if you expect to do it in a single day. (collarbone is now healing nicely after 4 surgeries...should see me in the saddle mid to late summer) 1 - Moab to Potato Bottom.gpx 2 - Potato Bottom to Farmington.gpx
