Happy Birthday and congrats on the bike. That bike looks great, even cleaner than my 04. Now go get some miles and scratches on that thing.

Congratulations on owning the Second Best Bike in the Universe!

The first is, of course, the 2003 MXC.

WOW that's one clean machine. Hella nice bike, congrats! ;) I love the way the tank goes way down, and is molded so the kick-starter fits in. Thats friggin awesome design. How much gas does it hold?

that skid plate will take anything you can put it through, mine has seen the other side of hell and made it back in one piece. on that bike be glad you don't have an aluminum one. it's a noisy bugger. i have the ktm poly resin skid plate on all of our bikes and have not had a problem with any of them. just have to zip tye the quick release screw so it stays put. makes changing the oil a snap. which reminds me we have to check your oil screen plug on the bottom of the cases to see if it's been upgraded.??

Yes, you should get rid of that plastic one. Because mine has just cracked after years of service, and I need another one. Yours could be exactly what I need.

Good choice Deb I have a 450 exc also and think it's the perfect choice for a ds bike. Don't worry about the skid plate it's fine. Mine has been thru hell and back and it's still good.

Done... has a hex screw.....( one of the lessons I learned from Paul on the 525 venture..Thanks though)...I need sooo much more knowledge...anxious to learn....I KNOW I'll never work the skidplate like you guys do, so guess I'll keep that...(sorry Paul :) ) A little seat work this week, and I hope to take a nice ride next Saturday...Ramona...Palomar...stop by Pala demo day? Perhaps....

that skid plate will last you just fine....i love my poly skid plate, light weight, quieter, easier to service engine, and PLENTY strong..trust us all.

if anyone says you need an aluminum one it is just because of 2 reasons.

1} they have never used one and just CANT believe they are ok. or

2} they have not gotten the zues fastener correctly attached and lost theirs

hobie is right...make sure your zues fastener is tightened CORRECTLY and throw a zip thru a small drilled hole in skid plate and around the frame rail done deal..

haha, I'm on plastic skid plate number 3. Not cause they break but because they fall off at freeway speeds. I think it was user error. But I just safty wire or zip tie the metal clip to the frame now...
