I didn't see an iron ranger . I did see the actual ranger making rounds about 5:30 pm. It's a great place to park and go riding. Bow Willow goes straight to all the fish creek, super, Diablo, valecito, and mud Caves, wind Caves, sin Nombre,. It also goes into Carrizo Gorge Trailhead and vallecito south, . It seemed like a place for hikers and family's with kids and jeep people and stuff like that. About a mile east is a Willow tree that makes a perfect camp site. It bows over the top of any camper or rv. I Cant convey the beauty of these canyons thru pics It's really something you need to see first hand. It's a good idea to be led through the dezert by a dualsport because you could Spend months out here just figuring out what wash goes where .

Riding near jacumba has a very different set of rules, and as we have lots of new riders here on SDAR it's important for us to be crystal clear on which set of rules applies to specific riding areas. There is a small 7,2 mile section that is ohv. The rangers ask that you stay on the trail and comply with all signage where only foot traffic is permitted.. the federal border protection agency is monitering the area closely due to an increased level of drug smuggling activity near the border within the last couple years. There are stiff fines allocated to those traveling off the designated route and would risk impoundment of ohv vehicle if caught.

I'm a big fan of free-for-all riding and for that, there's the Ocotillo Wells SVRA. Acres and acres of ride anywhere, do anything. It's a freedom fest! Riding in the Anza Borrego State Park is a very different set of rules, and as we have lots of new riders here on SDAR it's important for us to be very clear on which set of rules applies to specific riding areas.

You hit the nail on the head padu. I learn more from beginner level riders than experts. Every one of us brings something unique to the table . Some are good at on line stuff managing the site, some are good at having perfect set up, some are good at being prepared, some Are good at just being Available and wanting to ride, some are good at making a budget work for dualsport. Some are good at camera, some are good at camping, or even bringing people together. And so much more. Luckily for us Doc and Rad had the vision of bringing it all together.

The 31' class 'C' had no problem and its pretty low. Most the sites are on the side of a hill and not very level so take lots of leveling blocks

This is good...I'd love to own one, but I have the original 900 Elefant that they retro-modeled this after. Sounds like this is an awesome machine. Hey Padu, I'd love to try your Desert X. I know you love yours

I wish the moto carriers would incorporate something like the 1up mountain bike carriers. They have an "anti-wobble" mechanism where you turn a bolt and it wedges a ball into a corner of the hitch, taking out all of the slop. I have one and transport an e-bike and you can off-road with no rocking/wobbling. Something like @nostep built would probably be the best and strongest option if available. I used to have a Joe-hauler for sport/dirt bikes and always wanted something that mounted into two hitch receivers instead of just one.

I was going the opposite direction (up Lemon) and was passing when I realized it was you. You were looking down, I remember that. Bummer on the flat. ...but it sure is nice having tubeless tires.

I had a Zubb sighting this morning. Spotted a 1250 wearing knobbies at the bottom of Lemon.... then I looked at the gear and knew it was you.

This is still on my bucket list. Some of the vids/images I've seen, there are some gnarly spots. (for us middle-weight/big-bike folk)

To clarify, I have a plated KTM 500. Perhaps "OHV" was the wrong terminology.

I'm pretty sure "technically" it's nearly all street legal only these days out there. That's not to say everyone out there has had a street legal motorcycle. I know there's a sign on the North side of the freeway that says no off-road vehicles or something like that. I have never seen a SXS or quad anywhere out there except for the Border Patrol. And the Border Patrol has had much less sense of humor lately, as you can imagine. Report back and let us know how it goes for you. It's really not that large of an area anyway so I don't even pull off the highway since there's lot's more great adventures at the bottom of those rocks (Ocotillo and such).

Working closely with state law enforcement agencies in the State of California i must arvise any riders consuming alcoholic beverages while riding a motor vehicle to refrain from allowing thier blood-alcohol levels to get any higher than .08%. Its important to all of us who use it to keep these bars open so please drink and ride responsibly. lets get everyone home safe this season.

how do you get those little eye balls emoji to pop up when your posting on rider's threads? Is there an app somewhere that you go to to get your emojis?

For those who may not know, ALL trails within Anza Borrego State Park are for plated vehicles only, and the park is for designated trail use only.

We adopted Ranger and South Kernan. Those trails look pretty good right now so I think I will just bring the Jeep... unless some of you guys want to work on Tombstone? I will be in a blue Jeep wearing a Dessert Dash shirt, stop and say hi. Ken

I didn't like the rocking either. I added a piece of square tube to the carrier. I bolted a piece of plate with angle bolted to it to the hitch side plate. Bolting (rather than welding) it added a little bit of adjustability. With no load, it slides in and out smoothly. When a bike is on the carrier, it flexes and binds the tubing between the pieces of angle. No more rocking.
