Dan Diego 40 Posted August 20, 2016 OK, looks like I'm going with the KneeRover Pro. George wouldn't do the suspension upgrade so I'm sending it off to Cogent Dynamics. Should have it back a few days before the cast comes off. Also gonna powdercoat the frame orange so the guys at the track will take me seriously. Ditched the wussy basket for a CamelBak in front. Can carry water, tools and a compressor for trail side tire changes.
Oracle 195 Posted August 20, 2016 You said "water"....LOL Who you kidding....
Dan Diego 40 Posted August 20, 2016 I mean, technically, I "could" find a $50 scooter like the one pictured here. But how would that do in the sand dunes? And in Baja? And at the MX track? I'd be the laughingstock of the SDAR folks (in casts). No one wants that.

Wierdrider 189 Posted August 20, 2016 We will have to do a photo shoot of you and your scooter!?
Dan Diego 40 Posted August 20, 2016 If it goes the way my last couple photo shoots went, I'll be horizontal. Perhaps you can photoshop me so I look 1/2 as cool as the Kug? BTW: That's my first knee scooter mod: The ubiquitous Kug decal!
paulmbowers 236 Posted August 20, 2016 You'd better run scooter-rated oil in that thing. DO NOT USE automobile oils in a knee scooter. Ever. People that use auto oil in a scooter are idiots, and shouldn't be posting here.
Dan Diego 40 Posted August 20, 2016 I had a friend one time who said his knee scooter ran noticeably better when he used automobile oil. Swore by the stuff. I may try it. Now, about those tires...

danrider 5 Posted August 21, 2016 dont buy one because I have one you can use. I bought it when I had my foot surgery
paulmbowers 236 Posted August 21, 2016 I wouldn't. Lots of problems with the earlier models. By 2015 they had most of the issues worked out.

Has it been dropped? How many miles on the ODO? All on road miles or did you take it to Alaska or Tierra Del Fuego? Last oil change? Will it make me look "cool like Steve McQueen?" Lots of questions, I know, but if I'm borrowing a knee scooter and not paying anything at all, I want to make sure I'm getting the very best.

You pick up a cactus thorn in the middle of Baja and you're screwed. My buddy got screwed in Baja a few times.
