Very cool canyon we found on our way to Escalante

Long Canyon on the Burr Trail, near the beginning of a long day: Burr Trail, Wolverine Loop, out and back and some ad hoc exploring in Moody Canyon, back on the Burr to Boulder to pick up our bags (staged at Boulder Mtn Lodge) and a very late lunch. Then Hell's Backbone to Escalante

900 Miles of Hard Duty. Have you heard, there are Rocks on that Arizona Strip!

Vs the MT43 Trials, the MT 21 wears longer and Slides better. Not quite the absolute rock climber, but an excellent "Travel" tire. I installed the

MT21 front as well. In the past, I have have an "Issue" with the trials tire with the bike leaned over on hard slick/gravel road surfaces. As you pointed

out, the steep edge profile is a negative in that mode with the 43. Ripping around on the marble strewn graded roads like the Burr, I had more

consistent control.

Thanks for the advice. B

That's pretty good milage on an MT21.Mine are toast after 900 miles, the 525 must be a lot harder on tires than the 350.

You guys see Joel and crew up there? They were riding the same area at the same time. Joel, Todd, John, Chris, etc... LA ADV crowd. I heard their trip was amazing.

Glad to see my friends enjoy the area.

As a local resident however I am dismayed at the price popularity of an area has to pay. Horse Shoe Bend near my house in Page Az has become a stop for all manner of tourists groups. There are now controls for the tour busses that stop there on their loop to the south rim of the Grand Canyon. Promoting an area draws crowds. Bikers and buss loads of tourists from China. I know I am fighting a loosing battle but it is still discouraging to see really neat remote places destroyed by popularity.

Guess this is why I don't promote my rides in this area. Seems like they are doomed to become public.

Don,

We didn't see Tour Buses on the Croton Rd. or for that matter Wolverine Loop.

You are Barking at the Moon my friend. Just work harder to get Out There. The Japanese are inevitable,

the 60's are 50 plus years old.
