OK, I have had entirely enough of this Covid BS and I need something to look forward to. This weekend, how about "Bike Swap Sunday". @J5ive is jonesin to buy a skinny bike and wants to try out some samples. So far, I have my KTM 500 for him. Here's the plan: Meet at Dunkin Donuts in Ramona at 8:30 (if you want a donut/coffee). Sunday, 11/20 KSU at 9:00am We can head up 7th or Magnolia and dive into Sutherland Dam and Black Mtn (aka Piney Top) I know @tntmo has his overnighter on the 19th, but there are some of us that can't obligate to the whole weekend (holiday stuff). I'm leaving for Oakland on Monday (for Thanksgiving break), but I can squeeze in this little ride ... Also, you ADV bikes come along....maybe you'll want to try something different We've never tried something like this before....come on out, but be flexible!

Right after the 2 day training with the West38 Moto guys, we had a 2-day ride around around Borrego Springs and Julian. The groups were divided between L1 and L2. Each group had one instructor (including our own master @Zubb) that would use the more challenging terrain as a classroom. I had an absolute blast getting to know some new trails and places, including: . Jasper Trail . Upper Grapevine Canyon . Lower Grapevine Canyon . Eagle Peak . Cedar Creek . Bolder Creek . Rodriguez Spur Truck Trail . Yaqui Wells

Shhhh now the cats out of the bag dammit! @Canopytheory I am in Escondido and we have tech days etc here on a somewhat unregular schedule. Best thing out of the box if get your suspension set with the proper sag, that's about a 20 minute job. PM me if you need help you can swing by on a weekend and we can get you sorted. We also teach how to pack motorcycles and how to watch people fix flats.

Hey all, super stoked to join the group and meet new people and ride. I am a new rider with about 1000 miles under my belt now. Finally decided staring at bikes and dreaming, but letting fear of the unknown stop me wasn't going to cut it anymore. So I bought a 2021 africa twin adventure sports and I'm looking for the adventure part. I'm in Carlsbad and looking to meet riders, gain experience, and camp off my bike. My ultimate goal is long adventures like Baja and Alaska someday. Can't wait to see you out there.

Endorsement in 3, 2, ….. yeh if you want an all season ADV suit, this is top of line. Vents better than other brands. Best size and shaped armor of the bunch too.

Howdy! I ride a Royal Enfield Himalayan (411 cc). I’ve been riding since July of this year, and just went to my first adventure riding rally at the beginning of this month, took a beginners dirt riding course there (which I found to be super helpful at giving me more confidence in the dirt), and then road up the Nate Harrison grade a few days ago for my first true dirt riding experience. So far it has been great! Still slow and nervous on dirt, but getting better.

I survived the one-handed drill OK (yeah that was incredibly helpful for me as well), but crashed after lunch in the 3rd area. My one-handed whiskey throttle was unfortunately not on purpose lol. Rode the last hour until the event ended, then could barely load my bike. You were riding great, wish I got half as much seat time as you seem to get. You are living life the right way!

Nice to meet you! I didn't see your crash. You were riding normally for the rest of the day. Way to endure dude! Yes, the one handed drill was super hard, but it was the one that helped the most. I did it a bit this past weekend at McCain

Yeah was good to meet you briefly at their event on the 5th (love your Beta almost as much as your Desert-X). The dirt was so perfect! Picture of me on the bottom is about 5 minutes before I triple-crash-one-hand-whiskey-throttle-highside-launched myself into the air and landed on my ribs/spleen ooofffffff. It's been a painful week and will probably need another to recover. I doubt I broke a rib but it sure feels like it.

😂🤣 Were you there by yourself? Any pictures of the "soft sand"? I was wondering how feasible it is to go there with a big bike.

All excellent points. I'm comparing the DRZ400 to a XR650L. Is your motor all stock? I've ridden a XR600 and like the tractoring of that motor. I hear the L has a lower 1st and 2nd gear and even heavier flywheel effect? The estart is nice, the extra weight of the battery etc is what it is. How would you describe the nature of the bike?

Just picked up an 01 DRZ. Stoked! I’ll be there in my van. Might roll in on Friday too.

Yes.... W38 Moto is a great class for those on bigger bikes! Did level 2 earlier this year and despite having grown up riding/racing MX, i learned some valuable lessons. Sign me up for Cedar Creek run! That is one of my favorite trails.
