If you can't throw your bike off a cliff, you can always poke some extra holes in yourself to keep things lively, Can't wait to hear the whole story.

bikeslut 1 Posted September 24, 2009 We did the first part of the Peak Loop- Beezzz had a mechanical- we each had a couple of falls...one person had more than his fair share! Fakey popped a hole in his rad after we wandered onto a hiking trail...for 10 miles arrggggh! I am inept, but this SHOULD be a SPOT from the trail... can you spell BFE? https://login.findmespot.com/spot-main-web/...ry.jsp?_afPfm=
paulmbowers 236 Posted September 25, 2009 It was a very long, difficult route. It was actually not that great a distance, but it was neverending humiliation. Possibly the most difficult ride I've completed- and maybe the most rewarding. Beautiful in-the-pines riding, technically very difficult. It can be seen at my SPOT page- look at members only for my link. Going to sleep now.

darylhunter 1 Posted September 25, 2009 Hope it was cool enough for ya up there. I was in Phoenix yesterday for a meeting, and while I've been there on hotter days, it was still pretty toasty. A dry heat, but still not something I'd want to be riding in.

TrophyHunter 15 Posted September 26, 2009 K, offloaded BS at Tavern Rd for his short ride home, Beezzz's ride showed up at midnite & Pasta wandered westbound. Here's a teaser set of pics but I'll let BS kick off the full photo array. We were an hour into day one, on a sedate dirt road working our way from Beaver Creek campground to Schnebly Hill Rd/Sedona when Beezzz pointed across a valley saying something like "that looks fun." Well, here's what fun looks like. Pasta was having so much fun, he decided for a more tactile experience. Very fortunate that the stick snuck 'tween his helmet and goggles and found "just" the corner of his eyelid. Nothing four stitches wouldn't seal up about 90 miles later. Sedona view from a trail. Voice of Jack? Thanks again to Tommy for all of the fish & scallops! We ate very well.
socalhodaka 104 Posted September 26, 2009 Nice teaser Ken! Wow that view of the valley is beautiful. Close call for Pasta, glad your ok. I can't wait to see the full report. Kelly
PastaPilot 17 Posted September 26, 2009 Here's a few more. The little suprise at Beaver Creek campground, These are similar to babyheads, but more like manskulls. This is a seasonal watercrossing on the first day. The pic sucks. Taking a little breather after the manskulls crossing. Pretty red rocks! Ken ready to rip up some rocky trails! A decent view Bikeslut maxin and relaxin at lunch stop in Sedona. Here's a shot of our campsite in Flagstaff. Ya just need to look around the motorcycle. Beezzz and bikeslut getting a start on Wing Mt. Early in The Peaks loop. Ken is still playful. Taking a pic of me, taking a pic of him After a few more pic stops there'll be no more smiles on any faces The trail ahead, in a few parts it looked as though we were the first bipeds to ever travel on this trail. In other places we found out why... FakeName Trophyhunter bikeslut Here is the only cactus on the entire San Francisco Peaks range and I just happen to lose my balance here and put the palm of my hand right on it to catch myself :beach: The trail ahead We finally reach the end of the wrong trail. Anyone thats viewed the tracks from the Coconino Trailriders site knows that a portion of the 'Peaks Loop' is missing. Most of the "secret trail" is really well marked but at somepoint just before meeting up with the track there must've been a jucntion with another trail and we got on the wrong trail. That trail was balls, but still a fun ride and a real skill developer. No complaints from me on that trail, except I'm pissed that we got on the wrong trail and didn't get to see any more of the real trail. I guess this gives us a reason to go back again soon. The Airport. Fakename gettin on it! Bikeslut making it look easy Trophyhunter showing you all that it really is a loose, silty, rock covered, difficult hill Fakename confirms the difficulty level of the hill Trophy's second attempt, slightly modified, FTW Beezzz a bit tired after a grueling week Later today I'll ice the cake!!
