SDAR BBQ 8/24/2024 & Report

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Proposing this date for an SDAR BBQ meetup, not a tech day.
I have plenty of room to host and if people bring a camp chair as well just in case can easily host 20-30 people with no problem.
Will have the grill going and the plan for now ( what I will provide at this time ) are the obligatory hotdogs and buns (* I am very simple)

As usual I do not serve beer or such, peeps are on their own to bring their beverage of choice.
We will have the usual honor jar for donations which go to Randy to help keep the lights on here at the site.
Look to the calendar for location etc.

@bajadog if your bringing the elk burgers let us know

@PaulyPickles come and see what the hubbbub is all about yourself

@KTMrad here is the placeholder

@AdventureSmeghead this is the thread you are looking for....

Sounds great!

Yes, I can grind some elk burgers. It would easier to transport in a cooler just as a bag of meat rather than forming them at home.

Any issue with us forming the burgers at your house  @DSM8 ?

Nope the kitchen is yours to use as needed, come early if you want to form them up and stick em in the fridge for a while

If Bajadog brings Elk burgers, than I'll pick up some hot dogs and/or brats, fixin's and sides.

As Dave said, bring whatever you'd like to drink with you.

If you can make one without any spice,  I will bring my food processor and try a ELK burger.

I'm looking forward to it.

I had a "private" tech day at Udo's the other day and he found the gremlin that was manifesting in my KTM.  I'll arrive both hungry for Elk, and with a club donation in hand.

I'm still planning on grinding elk Friday. Was the plan to have a late lunch (2-3ish)?

So bummed I won't be able to go to this one, but next ones for sure!

In fact, we might do one that is co-sponsored by SOS!

Perfect. I'll try to arrive around 1100.  I've not been to an SDAR event in a while. Looking forward to this!

Here is the head count: about 14 people

Me, DSM8, Bajadog, Mr. JA JA, Zubb, Jfive, TNTMO, Adventure Smeghead, and 4 from Facebook: John Stahl, Tom Giamonco, Dave Willice, Randale, and maybe a couple others.

BajaDog is bringing & making Elk burgers. BajaDog, you want me to pick up the burger buns also ?

I am bringing beer brats with buns, tomatoes, onion, ketchup, mustard, maybe lettuce, potato and mac salad.

Please bring some $$ towards food and voluntary donation to SDAR if you'd like.

Ill provide plates etc.
We are not stocking drinks (I got stuck with way too much left over last time) but we do have a ready supply of ice water etc in glasses and whatnot if needed/wanted.

You are BYOB on the booze side of things.
