First impression on site was a heart attack or heat stroke Did he still have gas in his tank and water on him?

Only looked at the bike for damage, didn’t take a look at the tank, I did notice that there wasn’t any water containers laying around with him. The trail cuts left and right. I’ve done both on an atv. The left side is more difficult than the right. He wasn’t in a section where he’s likely to crash, and the scene showed no signs of one

I wonder why he went right to the single tracks at the fork. Or was he coming up the single track to the truck trail?

Or was he coming up the single track to the truck trail? It’s all scoot trails, not single track. The trail he was on follows the ridgeline to the bottom. Once you’re at the bottom, you have a bunch of easy options to take you out to Otay Mesa and back home
KTMrad 566 Posted April 30, 2020 In my opinion, out of respect, perhaps we should stop speculating what happened, details will come out later. As mentioned above, it doesn't appear that he crashed, his helmet was on handlebars and bike was fine.

Vintage Veloce 29 Posted April 30, 2020 Well... in my experience, when the thread is closed, only insiders end up knowing what happened. This event has been so public, I think we should all be able to understand what happened and how the search ended. Questions I still have: Was the bike parked? Upright? Upright and parked would imply some level of fitness when he stopped, as opposed to a crash. Since someone said the helmet was on the handle bars, that implies upright parking... but it wasn't said specifically. Was the bike on the trail? Or the side of the trail? Or away from the trail but visible from the trail? Was it parked in the shade, or in another place that limited visibility from above (helicopters). Did he have any water with him? A pack with stuff? KTMrad 566 Posted April 30, 2020 I'm sure details will come out later, as well as the autopsy results.
