Difficult Climbs

Recommended Posts

Wondering if anyone had a difficult or challenging(impossible) hill climb or trail local here in East County .. Anywhere from Otay all the way to McCain .

Something semi accessible with dual sport bikes...

Preferably below the 94 hwy.

Something you wouldn't recommend to a sane person.

Cv Rick , Ridge Road? Anything out there?

Not sure what kind of hill climb you are looking for, a straight, somewhat short (half mile or less) hill climb, or a really long (a couple of miles or longer) technical hill climb.  If the latter is what you seek, then look no further than Bronco Peak at Corral Canyon.  You can start right at Corral Canyon camp ground.  Somebody just rode it on Thanksgiving day and posted a video here:

Darren , you know 2 of the tough hill climbs in otay area. 1  is part way up the road from the pio pico  campground. Christoph climbed it with some stops in loose rocks.

2nd is up from the rock house near "pink gate"

I can take you to at least 2 others near otay valley. one of them I have been partway up. Lots of loose rocks. I might even try to climb that one to the  top.

After the rain ,  once it dries A little  , there is A STEEP plain dirt climb that is super fun. I will check with you if I can get out next week, or weekend.

Bronco peak looks  Gnarly !

Lots of those at Painted Gorge I can show you.

Extreme broken rock - shale - steep and narrow single track.

New Maxxis Tire and Rotella mandatory.

Superstition has some high risk single track trials bike trails as well.
