I need to get back on the horse that kicked me. I want to do just a simple ride to Ojos for Tacos. Maybe stop at the Cheese Caves also.Road only,no trails,no whoops,casual pace.good for Baja nubiles . I am taking my small bike but adventure bike will do with a skilled rider in Sand .

I going to park at the Boarder,( US side ) meet 8:30 AM at the mini market, kickstands up at 8:40 AM .

Passports.well maintaned,air in tires,no squids,well prepared Bla Bla Bla . ( gee I better see if my bike runs )

It's maybe 2.5 - 3.5 hours from Tecate to Ojos along Compadre depending on stops and if you visit Santa Veronica. Not sure on mileage but <100 for certain. Your 650R would eat up Compadre Trail and this could be a fun intro to Baja day trip. If you're okay with some more slabbing, you could come back north through SawMill/Ramonas towards La Rumorosa for a change in scenery.

Compadre is a large, well traveled trail. It's not what I'd call two track really - it's more of a fireroad but it does have some sandy sections and has some rolling hills towards the south end. Keep an eye out for rain ruts.

Parking in Tecate is $5 per day.

The rally point is the mini-market parking lot located at 441 Tecate Road, Tecate, CA. (32.578749, -116.627834) You can fuel up there too. Parking is available at the lot with little yellow shack located near the intersection of Tecate Road and Thing Road. There is a bigger lot back behind the mini mart too. (401 Thing Road).
