I checked out the 500exc. Seat seems lame. Also I am A shorter rider.what aftermarket seat is good that might be lower or at least not taller.

Enduro Engineering has been making soft foam/standard height seats for KTMs for a while now.

3rd Seat Concepts. I had a EE Seat on my ''07. SC is a much better seat. Also you will find that the seat height will get a little better once the suspension settles in. I'm 5' 10" and after break-in I'm fine with the Seat Concepts standard height seat. I don't care for the lowered seat as it makes the seat to peg distance a little too cramped for my taste. My buddy is a little more vertically challenged and he had the suspension lowered 2" on his. Both of us have the 350 but it's the same frame/seat as the 500.

That's what I have. Now the tough decision - orange stitching or black?

Orange stitching is for faster riders- the color contrast is far more responsive.

That's why I got it!

Yeah- about that..

by now you've doubtlessly received the letter that, based on the results of your last crash, the privilege of orange stitching has been revoked.

Get out the black sharpie...

here's a pic that might help. The contrasting orange stitching on the seatconcepts seat looks awesome imo.

All is not lost- perhaps one day, in the distant future, you could regain the privilege.

We always leave the door to redemption slightly ajar.
