2 DRZ Attack Sand Dam VIDEO

Recommended Posts

hodnettjj headed out Superstition Mtn for some birthday fun in the desert. He told me he wanted to ride anything but didn't want to deal with sand all day.... well.... into the dunes up the mountain we went. He did awesome. I posted this on the DRZ thread on ADV and the guys are liking it.

3:04 length. Eddie Van Halen Instrumental background music. Watch in HD 720p. Lots of sandy action!

I will post pictures soon when the web issues get resolved. Thanks Randy and Cameron for your efforts!

For the time being, this WhereAmIRiding link will show you our route

Nice video, I enjoyed that. No one clip was too long so I didn't get the usual vertigo feeling watching someone else ride. Well done!

Love your videos, always entertaining. Glad you manned up and went up the right side of Sand Dam. That is always fun on a motorcycle.

i must say i was always really reluctant to ride sand. but after goofyfooter and i spent a little bit of time out playing in the sand i changed my opinion. and this video made riding in those huge dunes look like a ton of fun.

Great video! Nice effects and short clips as mentioned. More to learn on my end.

Agreed - nice run on Sand Dam.

Thanks for the comments guys. The videos are very time intensive. Now that I have a few I might start to make demos and trailers for fun. Better action and angles as opposed to just doing RR videos. We shall see...

Desert Dash 2012 Video Teaser/Trailer??? Might have to persuade some of you guys to come out and let me try to film you.

Trophy, you went from having literally no experience with film to posting a video on the internet, excellent job!

Hole in the dunes, scary if you come too hot off the top

Tim, nice video of the area and good job going up the right side of sand dam. I haven’t gone up that side since I stopped riding my yz490.

The family and I have had a lot of fun riding at Superstition over the years.

Here are some pictures of my boys having a good time doing some of the jumps out there.

My oldest is on the YZ and my younger son is on the CR

Hope to ride with some SDAR members at Superstition some day

That road sign was one of our early attempts to mark the trails. The paint didn't last long (only about a year or two in the sun killed them)and the signs were to flimsy. The new signs are steel plate and last longer. The luckylady sign in the video is one of the newer style signs.

Great video, makes me wish I had a dualsport with me.

Thanks for the comments guys. The video hit 500 views today and holds good audience attention. Still trying to get better at it. Hopefully I can get some footage of SDAR guys for a Desert Dash preview trailer soon.

Schwinn and Blind - I'm glad I went for the right side. Totally doable as long as you have your momentum going up the hill. Coming down in the soft stuff was a bit tricky for me, I had to get moving and just commit to it.

Trophy - Keep up the good work. I'm stoked to see you posting your first video that's great.

HowsAbout - Your kids are going big on those jumps. Natural terrain jumps are no joke

Mad Thumper - I mounted a GoPro to the chin of my helmet. I built a little bracket in the vent area of the helmet and attached the camera mount. I have to run the camera upside down to get the appropriate angle. I flip the image during importing.

RogerTOWN - Interesting story on the sign. Was the sign erected by a 4x4 club or something?
