Covered in Dust 163 Posted August 10, 2011 Here's a nice little trail Chris took us on. Can't wait to do it again next year. How did you manage to capture the radio audio on the video? Just like Ken said, I don't know what settings I had turned on on the GoPro but the sound was great at slow speeds. Not real good at hi speed to much wind noise on some of the other video's. dsfox 0 Posted August 11, 2011 Mammoth is to date my favorite place to ride, so I started planning this trip on the way home from last years event….bought tickets in November, and of course Mammoth was again an awesome event…Thanks to Chris and CORE…..CORE ROCKS!..If you haven't participated in a core event…you are missing out!.And Huge thanks to my travel buddies: Tracy, Johnnybags, Ian, Jonathan and Dr. J…Great Friends and we always have a lot of fun together!. We arrived in Mammoth on Thurs. 1 pm, set up at Juniper Springs resort….NICE PLACE..pool, multiple Jacuzzis, and all for $67/nt/person…Rode some on Thursday….Long ride on Friday North of Mammoth, craters, June Lake and Points North and East of there…Great concert Friday night! Blues Traveler was Fun!.....Much of my group had a lower key day on Saturday and stayed more local in Mammoth (due to the Great time we had at the concert on Friday night!)..Some of them headed up Laurel Lakes...they needed a good workout...I may perhaps next year skip the concert and just ride the weekend like some of the guys do. get out earlier, more riding….tooo much great riding up there and 4 days doesn't scratch the surface…We headed south on Sunday morning to ride out of Bishop up Silver Canyon to the White Mountain Research center at 12, 500 elev. (open 1/day/year which happened to be Sunday)..we also explored several canyons east with over 20 water crossings…Great Adventure..(picture of sunday to follow) PS: I know I take a lot of pics of my bike in the scenery..Have I said? "I LOOOVE My KTM!" Johnnybags tracy Dr. J jonathan Ian

Maniac 0 Posted August 12, 2011 I had an awesome time! Thanks to my riding partners for making it so memorable. I am so lucky, I feel like I have the best friends in the world. The laughs, the great trails, the adventures... new horizons, getting lost, and finding ourselves. Forgetting about work, the mortgage, the ex; making lasting memories doing things we love, with great people. This is a nice way to live. What a good looking group, that guy on the right is especially handsome... Deb: Jonathan: The "other" Jonathan Fantastic views: Laurel Lakes {I don't know nothin' 'bout no rocks!) I could have sat in this meadow all day. Sorry you missed this one, Deb. KTM, Honda, Suzuki, BMW, Kawasaki... we had a good selection of machines on this trip: Tracy: "Helmet Cam" Jonathan: Our fearless leader, all around great sport, and amazing person: (I am putting together a calendar soon, "the women of SDAR"... reserve your copy now... "Come on guys, let's get with it!" Happy smiling people... is that Brad Pitt on the right? Darn, I think so! On top of Joaquin Ridge: Thanks again to my amazing friends for making this trip so memorable. So when is the next one? My bike is cleaned and ready.
hoss314 0 Posted August 12, 2011 Good times as usual......Have a few pics to share. (some cell phone...others cheap camera) Loaded up and almost ready to go! Took two bikes as there are lots of easy trails and had "planned" on riding the 690 to Bodie. Friday's ride: Met up with Dan and Peter at the Holiday Haus. Then we rode to McD's to get Kevin for a 90? mile loop. Great Views! We made our way to the infamous single track... The guys on their way... Other side of canyon... Approach at the rock.. Kevin RIDING through... Another perspective of the thin trail with drop.. Here comes Pete.....he was saying "you trying to kill me! you guys are crazy" Dan on approach.. Riding it out (as we all did on Friday) Saturday I rode the 690 and ended up on some great single track...little bit tougher on the bigger bike but was fun! Didn't take that many pictures. Some ugly dude on the trail We ended the ride at Joaquin Ridge......great view at 10,200' That ugly dude again... Saturday night started off with sushi and... Saturday went into Sunday about an hour and a half before I should have got up to ride....so I went with the fellas in the truck to Bodie instead of riding. Eddie and Brian getting rid of Irish car bombs... Brian Roger and Eddie.... Bodie's "Last Ride" Old school "Family restroom" Bodie fuel station....they don't have VP Drove by a few lakes and waterfalls on the way back... Monday: Rode with Chris, Chris, Eddie, Roger, Brian for a quick loop out to the single track with the rock drop again Poor Eddie was having over heating issues on the ride.......Stupid KTM's! Can you pick out the guys in the distance Chris helpin Chris.. Eddie... Roger... Didn't get Brian as he rode right on through! Views from up top... Chris updating his profile on spaceface Get back to the condo....pack and clean up for the long drive! Great weekend!
