Daily pics of good times

This ride still haunts me. I was having a tough day- in way over my head, seemed like everyone else was riding like Gods.

And the last "real" ride for that bike behind CiD. In this photo, unbeknownst to me, the piston is already cracked and this image was shot far from camp. We made it home without incident, but the next ride (Ocotillo- remember Randy?) the bike died less than 1 miIe from the truck. Did a compression test- it had zero- and sold the bike in that condition.

Haunts me also. That was the last ride for my favorite red jacket.

And we know if you'd had that jacket on your latest ride, things would have been different.

CID,  Thanks for taking the time to comb your archives to capture the essence of these journeys.  Beyond the wonderful landscapes, what we cherish are the campfire rowdy’s.  And thanks to everyone who make these events happen.

This was also the day I lost my clutch far far from camp and had to ride some pretty tough single track sections with out a clutch. Also the day Bags bike gave up a couple miles from camp. Also the day we stopped in the middle of nowhere and had one of the best beers I’ve ever had.  Just another day of great adventure.

You mean...this beer?

100% agreed. One of my most memorable.

For the record you were the most vigorous groper I've ever had on the back of the 400...

Almost ready. It takes a lot of time to go through 15 years and dozens of trips worth of pics.

PMB, AKA Fakename, Paul or as he likes to known Bon vivant man about town photographer extraordinaire. I think Paul and I first met on a ride to Mexico where I showed up with a cheap walkie talkie with an ear plug. Paul took one look at my setup and asked for my helmet where he installed speakers and then put a push to talk on my handlebars and gave me a Yeasu radio. Not sure if I ever gave the setup back to him so don't mention it to him. Since then we have been on dozens of rides all over the western United States. Paul was also one of my 1st responders when I had my little crash last December. I can't tell you what it was like to wake up after the crash with Paul getting ready to do mouth to mouth.

The Man!

It's nice of them to let the old man sit. Photo by Curtis, also most of the others that I'm also in.

This probably wasn't the 1st time Paul has come to my aid and it definitely wasn't the last.

All kidding aside it is a really great person that sneaks a couple of beers into your hospital room when you're stuck in there a few days.

Factually correct! I was concerned you had a pneumothorax developing from the obvious chest damage and was prepared (but not looking forward to) to help you breathe until the EMS could arrive with the right gear. I was hoping to avoid stabbing your chest with an improvised 2 gauge needle.

Well I’m just glad you were the only photographer present. Just think what could have happened if Curtis or Rigger were there to document the moment.
