Collision With Deer

Recommended Posts

That's sad, RIP

There is a internet video of a dr400 rider getting nailed by a turkey and it knocked him off the road - be careful out there.

It got my attention...

Prayers for the family...

CAMPO (CNS) - A 45-year-old Potrero man was fatally injured in the far

eastern reaches of San Diego County early today when his 2007 Harley Davidson

motorcycle collided with a deer, which also died.

The fatality on state Route 94 west of state Route 188 in the southern

Campo area occurred around 4:45 a.m., according to California Highway Patrol

Officer Kevin Pearlstein.

"The motorcyclist had no time to react as a deer ran out in front of

him," Pearlstein said in a statement. His name was withheld pending

notification of his next of kin.

RIP fellow rider. I tagged a deer (while driving my Yukon) on highway 67 a couple months back and I see them all the time along Highland Valley Rd. when driving to work in the morning, so we should always keep it in the back of our minds as another reminder to be vigilant. Ride safe everyone!!

Interesting (and unusual) they thought it important to include the status of the deer.

There's a moral equivocation there with which I'm not especially comfortable.

It will go too far when it creeps into the headline.

Maybe they included the status of the Deer so that it explained how they knew what had happened so quickly erasing the opportunity for people to reach a wrong conclusion.

RIP, prayers for the family.

Maybe.

But I've never seen it before, and I'm confident it's not the first time it's happened.

Not to mention the one that ran out right in front of you on the 950 in Julian!

That's right. Very close call. If that deer would have hit my bike, I would have kicked his ass... :heh:
