Pokey151 244 Posted December 6, 2018 Do you guys drive out and unload the bikes or do you just ride out. I have a stock tank on my 450EXC so I do not know the maximum range.

I have a stock tank on my 450EXC so I do not know the maximum range. I always ride out from Diego and meet up with them when my route allows, sometimes I missed them. I’ll be doing a 300 mile day on Sunday and hopefully my route will get me there on their departure. If not I’ll have to catch up or miss them once again. You can get fuel in Julian and OcWells and Borrego Springs or ask anyone camping along the way if they can spare some fuel. Let me know if you want to ride out early. paulmbowers 236 Posted December 6, 2018 I truck out- I live near the airport in San Diego. I’ll have a little bit of fuel available if someone needs a splash. Tracks available by clicking on the link below: December 9th 2018 Ride.GPX

EXC Yankee 0 Posted December 7, 2018 Hello guys, I am interested in this ride. Some of that terrain looks beautiful. I believe someone said it was about a 100 mile loop. About what percentage or how many miles of pavement will that include. I ride mainly dirt on my 500 EXC.

It's always a very good idea to expect the occasional washout on the desert floor..ie look ahead... not at the front wheel. The fun part about a nice rain is that the dust will be gone and there will be much more traction. Very nice conditions!

First, welcome! Guessing here a bit, I suspect we'll have 25-37 minutes on pavement altogether- in pieces here and there.

Most of those attending this ride do it on the glorious 500 exc. Hope you make this one; it's going to be a fine time had by all.

There will be sections where ruts might be an issue, especially Culp/Jasper which has one very large bike-eating rut that appears periodically. Probably a little tricky on the approach to the Squeeze- there's some hardpack there that can be dynamic after a rain. But there will be far less dust. FAR less.
