SteveO 0 Posted January 21, 2010 All new. No more KTM engines. Oh, so you're saying they are reliable now? I hear they are very reliable if you follow the scheduled maintenance. Change engine oil, oil filter, and transmission oil every 15 hours Clean the spark plug cap, air filter and fork covers every 15 hours Replace spark plug every 60 hours Replace clutch plates, piston and rings, con rod bearings, balancer shaft bearing, and crank shaft bearings every 90 hours, unless the bike is raced or used harshly, then every 45 hours Replace the gear bearing every 180 hours, unless the bike is raced or used harshly, then every 90 hours Check valve clearance every 30 hours. So how does this compare to a KTM 530 EXC? Edit: for the answer, see my thread in Equipment & Technical Forum Steve

robertaccio 412 Posted February 2, 2010 2010 all Beta from chassis to motor (with alot of other top quality international bits as well)!! It really is the new Italian and Euro Moto rebirth!! The Dirt Rider crew love the new 450 and praise it a great offroad enduro mount with long smooth easy to use power.
dsfox 0 Posted February 3, 2010 Nice looking bike...I like the relatively lower seat height (36" +/-) weighs 250 dry and 2.24 gallon tank.. (the gas gas posted earlier has a small stock tank, like 1.7 gallon)..but that's a good looking bike too.....If I only had an extra $7k around....
PastaPilot 17 Posted February 3, 2010 It should be noted that the Beta RS line (street legal) continues to use the KTM engines while the RR line (offroad) uses the Beta built engine.
robertaccio 412 Posted February 8, 2010 Dougie Lampkin just won the Hells Gate extreme enduro on his 2010 450RR!!! there were only 2 finishers.......Graham Jarvis on his Sherco was the other finisher. 2 small EU manufacturers pull it off!! Nice
