    Otay Track

Yeah, That's John and his track. Well maintained...Lol.

    Otay Track

Whoops, sorry about that. It's the site of the old CALVMX practice track, and I think they still use it. They are only open for riding on weekends, but you can probably check it out any time. Here's the only URL I have http://www.calvmx.net/Jamul.html
  4. Well, I ended up somehow stumbling upon the otay track on opening..ok, the day after opening day, and it turned out to be a very different type of track. The day started with me and my friend planning to ride RPMX (Great track, low crowds) but he flaked out and woke up at 10, his truck broke, bike broke......I was going to go alone, then my dad locked the keys in the truck...Anyways, the day was filled with a bunch of these kinds of things, and by the time we were finally able to go somewhere, it was 1:30...What's close by? Oh, yeah, that track out by Otay Lakes...So after a short drive, we get there, and it turns out they had been closed for a couple months and just re-opened yesterday. Weird coincidence... So, $25 to get in, but the owner John is a really nice guy, albeit a bit 'animated' and uh...different, just like his track, so if you bring him a six-pack or a cord of firewood or something like that, you'll get a discount. The track is really weird, it's out of maintenance, it's loose, it's slightly rocky, it's slippery, the jumps are really small, but it's fun. John claims this is all done on purpose so it 'forces you to choose the right line and makes you a better rider'. Yeah sure, whatever, but it did do that. Think of it as a wider version of easy trail at corral with some jumps thrown in...in the middle of summer, as he doesn't water it. It does have some cool features not found on most tracks though, a near vertical 15' tall 180 burm, a couple of splits with different burms, and several dips/drops/valley features. Bottom line, if it's far closer to you than anything else, as it is for me since I'm in El Cajon, and you think it's worth the extra $5 to ride a subpar track, check it out. It's fun, there's no one there, and it does, intentionally or not, make you a better rider. There's also the otay trails in the area that you can access through his land, though he claimed he'd charge extra for it...They have about 2 miles of trails you can ride, they're short but worth riding since you paid to get in anyways, a small track for the kids that's super mellow and flat, and then the main track, which is over a mile long and technical. Here's some pictures:

    Stupid should hurt

Wow...I don't even understand why there was a tomato up there in the first place...
  6. Very sad news, Argentine rider Jorge Martinez Boero died after injuries to the chest and head sustained in a crash during the first stage. Full story here: My link

    KTM 350 'Freeride'

That sounds awesome. I guess it only has around 9 inches of travel, which is plenty for places like corral and pine valley...I think that's all my 650 has anyways, and if it was tuned better, it'd be perfect.

    Supermoto Ride

I'll take a raincheck on that until my street tire shows up, sounds like a fun ride though!

    Supermoto Ride

I have a DR650 with worn off knobbies, Where were you thinking of riding?
  10. 650hucker

    Corral with Morgan

Ok, Apparently I suck at riding as I'm the only SDAR member who hasn't ridden Ranger cleanly Awesome ride, looks like a lot of fun...And to think I haven't ridden an actual trail in almost a year...need to fix that!
  11. Not exactly sure what they mean by 'freeride' but it almost looks like a smaller 350? Awesome trails and bike anyhow

    my new bike

Fell in love with that bike at motor world the other day...Makes perfect sense to me, 500cc four-stroke that's street legal...I want one! Awesome present!

    KTM 690 Street Bike

I'd rather have the 690 Duke myself...perfect blend between supermoto and superbike
  14. I might be in for this one if I don't go to the track.
