Picking up a new bike tomorrow 2024 500 6 days

Recommended Posts

Getting rid of 2 and getting one. Did all the numbers today and ordered some parts.  So tomorrow I’m picking it up or Saturday if I get too busy with work.  Very excited, I heard the new motor/frame is pretty good.  A stiffer chassis etc. which I like

Nice machine, funny you mentioned new stiffer chassis. Friend and former ISDE competitor has pulled one of the head stay engine mount chassis screws in an effort to "soften" the chassis feel. In my opinion not such a good engineering solution, losing the triangulated structure of the piece. I mentioned variable thickness/tempered steel (CrMo) or some type of Al alloy, mounts may be a better solution. BTW this was just for conversation nothing more. PS you will feel the new chassis. Even without a sag set my 24 FE350w is much more a scalpel than my well set up 21 TE300i. The new series chassis is very very good. Hope all is well Pokey see you soon?

Note- (some aftermarket company(s) are making variable engine mounts for different feel characteristics. Me personally would rather ride the machine as it was engineered and R&D'd at the factory. My tuppence.

Note I have been pleasantly surprised how well the entire package runs with all the gadgets including that weird screen thing exhaust tip. The FI factory tuning is setup flawless in its super quiet OEM state.

I am excited for sure,  when I mention stiff chassis, I am just used to mx bikes, but not 99 cr250R stiff.  That was just unpleasant.  I like a precise feel for sure.  I just want the suspension for high speed desert stuff, so I will need to figure out who/what to do.  Looking forward to cooler temps and rain.  As on now I am enjoying my Harley

I just bought bA 2024 Beta 500 and the exhaust is crazy quiet!

I had an aftermarket end cap in my 2014 KTM (loud) .  Just getting used to the quiet sound on the Beta.

So did the paperwork today and dropped off my 2 bikes.  I am waiting for tires, exhaust and tune, ordered a stabilizer mount and springs for my weight.  Just need some bark busters and I think I am set   Very excited to see all the changes since my 2017.  I rode my buddies 2023 350 exc last year and was blown away how refined it felt, now hearing the 24 is a big improvement from the 23, I cant wait.  The Geico Rally should be super fun

Talking about the apparent stiffness, didn't they address that in'25? I know they did several things but maybe the newer engine mounts would work on the earlier models to help with that?

Ok, I picked it up after the upgrades.  I have not ridden it yet but pushing it to load it, it sure feels lighter than my 17 500.  Felt like my 300.  Could just be placebo too?   After the tune and with the 4.1 exhaust, man this thing is barky.  Can’t wait to break this in
