Hello all!

Thanks for creating this space Randy!

Who's up for starting a roadbook navigation club in San Diego? The only requirement to join is the desire to learn and have fun.

The idea is to meet periodically. One person would be in charge of creating the roadbook for the meet, and everyone else runs it. Then for the next meet someone else is in charge of the roadbook, rinse and repeat.

Cheers!

I'd love to do this.  But likely won't have the time for until about a year from now.  No one told me retirement would flood my calendar this way

I'd love to learn! I've got a normal enduro, does anyone have a cost estimate for the most basic/cheap roadbook setup that I could equip for something like this?

I'd say depending on your model look for a rally tower. There should be several options unless you own some exotic bike.

Regarding road book you can go the traditional paper version or electronic. For electronic, I believe a combination of a small Android tablet (like a Samsung Active Tab 3) and an app called DMD2 is a cheap way to go.

An android phone mounted on your bar...

From there you have infinite choices all the way up to thousands of dollahs

Not to hijack your thread @padu.

I've been using Onx hunting app on my android for several years. Super easy and very detailed.

They just released an Onx offroad app. It's not free except for the trail version. Might be something to use

to create your roll chart.

For KTM owners looking for cool accessories I'd like to point you to RadeGarage, a Czech company which makes cool carbon towers for adventure models

I snagged up a Rade Garage rally tower a couple years ago when it was on sale for my 690.  Not only does it look awesome, it has great LED headlights that are DOT legal and includes a nice USB power port and areas to mount your choice of navigation.  Also helps a fair amount keeping me comfortable on the highway between dirt sections.  Mostly it looks awesome, though!
