dirt dame 561 Posted March 10, 2010 Ugh! Once that goo hardens into an adobe brick, it'll practically take a hammer and chisel to break the bike free. I rode in that kind of stuff once (not in a race, and managed not to get bogged down in it) and my bike must have weighed another 100 pounds when I got done riding. I ended up taking a screw driver and a mallet to remove some of the cement-like crud from my bike so that it was light enough to load back into the truck! dstss 27 Posted March 11, 2010 At the time, I had no map or GPS. I was just blindly following the guy that did.

dirt dame 561 Posted March 11, 2010 Found one! (Link, can't figure out how to put the photo on here) I think if you go back tothe beginning of this this thread, you'll find that it is is for pictures of you, family, friends or other people you know, or pictures that you took at events, not from outside sources. I don't remember exactly where we were. You may have been near here: That just looks like water, it's mud very similar to a load of concrete.
dstss 27 Posted March 11, 2010 Could be. I made it through, but I got to say it was funny watching Howard stop for a second only to realize he and his bike were sinking fast. Messy to help him get it out, but still way funny.
Redrider 0 Posted March 12, 2010 On the Bradshaw Trail Wash. The sand was perfect. I think it was operator error.

KTMrad 512 Posted August 6, 2010 On my Trans America Trail Trip 2 years ago, after completing the trail from Colorado to Oregon, I took as much dirt along the coast of northern California towards San Francisco. Here's a black sand beach on the Lost Coast, where it was legal to drive, so I rode out onto the beach, but it was softer than it looked. I had to get weight off the bike so I could get unstuck, so I took off the panniers and was finally able to ride out...... Watch until the end.....you can fast forward for a minute or so towards the end because I had to walk back to get the camera......my comments kinda sum up the whole thing !
