Ken S 164 Posted July 6, 2016 Looking to upgrade the light om my 15 WR450. 2 choices I've seen so far. Trail tech X2 halogen. 70 watts. $120. Doesn't say how many lumens. Is it much better than stock? Baja Designs XL Pro. 40 watt LED 4,900 lumens. $350 Input please.
TrophyHunter 15 Posted July 6, 2016 Good reviews if you can find a fit. I'd go LED over Halogen based on reading and experience. http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/advmonster-led-headlight.976505/ For Aux lighting, I've used MondoMoto and like 'em. http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/auxiliary-led-lights-mondomotos.751838/
ADV Bum 205 Posted July 6, 2016 I put the BD Squadron pro in my 990. Bright light! The XL pro might be to big.
arjayes 1 Posted July 6, 2016 Take a look at Cyclops: http://www.cyclopsadventuresports.com I installed their H7 LED bulbs on my Tenere to replace the stock bulbs. Huge improvement. Pricey, though. Edit: Almost forgot that I also have a Cyclops bulb on my KTM. Huge improvement there also.
PastaPilot 17 Posted July 6, 2016 What about an LED replacement bulb in your existing lens? Increased luminosity at half the power requirement. The only thing to replace is the bulb. $
vanjoosten 4 Posted July 6, 2016 I'd start with the Cyclops LED bulb like some others have suggested. I have had them on three bikes, and you really can't beat the bang for the buck. The BD XL is on another level, but I've been really underwhelmed by the TT X2. If you decide to go BD, I'd probably buy your stock light for my 07 WR. Bp619 107 Posted July 6, 2016 Yup definitely the cyclops led bulb I have it on my 350 and 950 and I think it's easily as bright and good beam pattern as the baja designs squadron with combo lense as my 570 has
350thumper 336 Posted July 6, 2016 Just go with the expensive one , it's not like your bike needs a rekluse . As much night riding as you do,you shud get a high powered top of the line candle on the front of your bike. Then get a high powered aftermarket heavy duty stator to power it. then ride on really dark nights so you can see the intense led action. or get 3 light bars like getspunked has. Then when your parked in the day light , tiny meadow larks can fly up and perch on your lighting bar. ... It's easier to get onto nature that way.

Thinking I need extra light for you when your flashlight goes dead.

REV5 0 Posted July 6, 2016 The Bd xl pro is a great light. Some of my riding buddies have been using the LED bulb and say that its just fine for the night rides. And if you are a person that is concerned about extra weight on the bike then the LED bulb is probably a good choice.
Ken S 164 Posted July 8, 2016 Ordered the Task Baja Extreme TR00013. 2 Helmet lights. 9600 Lumens. 4 batteries 2 chargers. 3.5 hours on high per battery. Total weight approx 1 pound for lights and 1 battery Once I install the light bar I'll have approx 20000 lumens of light so you guys can follow close and see what's coming. Should be blinding. Definatly not street legal. I ll give a report after Saturday night desert ride.
