Crawdaddy 96 Posted August 4, 2014 Well, I managed to stay mostly dry today. I'd originally intended to ride less than 100 miles but....well......one thing led to another and I wound up exploring out towards Bodie.......put ~160 miles on the Odometer.....found a few wrinkles.....and a few never return again sand pits/whoops.......typical day of exploration. A few pics from today: I found this short/forgotten trail years ago on Google Earth and it remains a favorite.....some great views Snack spot How bout that.....$1 for a wagon and two animals (mules?) Decided to ride as close to Mono as I could get.......interesting.....but not "interested" in hitting it again Some Mono Lake pics from the east: From the north west From the west Just east of Tioga Pass towards Grant and June Lakes Some more skinny stuff End of the day....... raining......getting tired/cold.......get those sheep outta my way It's supposed to rain all night and tomorrow so probably heading home in the morning......315 miles on the odo for the weekend......another successful Bikes, Brews and Blues event in the books....with a a few wrinkles for our return next year

wildwood 11 Posted August 5, 2014 Just got back. That was a great time. Mammoth has an awesome vibe, a really fun place to party. The BluesaPalooza was outstanding The trail up to Laurel Lake. The mountains around this place are incredible. Crawdaddy getting things rolling at Friday Registration. I'd like to know the story behind getting a boxcar up to the side of this mountain at round 8000'.Thanks Chris for organizing the ride, and putting us on to the Bluesapaloosa. I can't get back up there soon enough. Riding in the heavy pines was awesome. We put in about 250 miles around the area, and barely scratched the surface of what's out there. Just incredible scenery everywhere.
Crawdaddy 96 Posted August 5, 2014 I can't get back up there soon enough. That's two of us. I've woken up each of the last 4 days and gone riding/exploring in Mammoth.......arrived home last night. I'll have a few wrinkles for next year...... Glad you and Charlie were able to make it!
REV5 0 Posted August 5, 2014 Sign me up for next year! I lived in Mammoth in the early 90's and those awesome photos are bringing me back. Ahhh I miss that place.
wildwood 11 Posted August 5, 2014 A few more pic's........ To say the 'Paloosa' is getting popular would be an understatement. Here's the line getting into the Saturday beer tasting and concert. The line up the hill goes about a quarter mile. And down to the corner. Then down to the gate. It all went pretty fast once it got moving. Uncle Champ tearing up some trails on Friday. A couple cold ones at the Outlaw Saloon. We camped at Sherwin Creek campground. Nice place, and you can ride ATV's right out of camp to hit some trails. Just too much fun.
