D38 2014 H&H King of the Desert Crash

Recommended Posts

Three 28 mile laps.Lap one at mile marker 20 I swapped and could not recover after shifting into 5th on some sand hoops. I got some bumps and bruises but nothing serious so I completed the course. My Husky started right up after taking a beating but my handle bars were pretty tweaked.

Glad you're okay. Do you think a GPR or similar would've helped or did the back come around after a whoop?

Thanks.

My GPR was set to 4 and probably saved me from a few other "Gotchas" around the course especially in the rock gardens. The course was pretty brutal. I diced 2X and the 3rd sent me top side.

Glad you are ok... that could have been bad... tough rider / tough bike

Those D38 tracks have been used so many times they are pretty beat up.

where are results?

I was probably up to 40-45 mph in 5th gear accelerating when I went down. I do have the footage from the vet track but I have to edit it as its pretty boring watching 3 slow guys cruise around a track for 30 minutes :sleeping_02:

Unofficial race results are in but without lap times.

1st Craig Smith

2nd Shuyler Shoonmaker

3rd Larry Roeseler

4th Eric Biddlecome (My buddy :smile_anim: Non Pro)

22nd ME!

I felt like I was racing on the first lap passing guys and skipping hoops and stuff. Then the crash happened and the second lap I seriously slowed down. I need to pace myself better. By the third lap I was barely surviving but I caught a second wind and on the back 9 passed a bunch of guys. :D
