bendobe 0 Posted June 11, 2013 I have had mine for a couple weeks now and it's great. There is a pretty active user forum just for the NC that has a lot of user testing on some of the stuff you have lined up. You can get MT60Rs and TKC80s in 17" sizes if you want decent 50/50 tires to do some exploring. It's definitely not a trail bike but unimproved roads are not an issue. I am in the process of converting mine for a similar purpose.

Guest Crusty Posted June 11, 2013 I have a hard time buying into the 70-80mpg claim...... It's a Honda!!! The Grom gets 130 My CRF 230 gets such good mpg it might get plated SOON!!
tntmo 887 Posted June 12, 2013 My old NX250 used to get 75+ mpg. The Honda Elite 125 scooter my daughter rode to school only got about 40-50. I just can't see a larger motorcycle pulling those numbers, but I guess I'll have to wait and see what the real world numbers look like from owners.
Crawdaddy 96 Posted June 12, 2013 I'm averaging ~50-55mpg on the VStrom....
CalNub 0 Posted June 12, 2013 I used to get ~65mpg on my F650GS. Comparable in most respects to the NC700X

What's unbelievable is the first time you go to accelerate and hit the rev limiter, you have to short shift this thing! haha I about went over the bars! bikeslut 1 Posted June 13, 2013 I used to get ~65mpg on my F650GS. Comparable in most respects to the NC700X I'm getting 42 from my KLR with 685... I ride a bit like a hooligan, but 70-80 is pretty high I could probably get 50 if I babied it.
Slaugo 35 Posted June 13, 2013 Honda claims around 64 mpg but some peeps post up like 70+. I'm getting a good running avg of 57 street only not going over 60 mph and throttle and braking with a conscience. 43 at Glamis with wheel spin. Sounds like a great project bike Jon. Limited dirt sections how ever. Many people describe like riding a diesel car. Be interested g to know what's KlR would do with a six gear. But with both bikes weighing more than a CBR1000RR they are limited on dirt. But plenty capable fo getting you to the dirt on slab.
