I did blackbear in the rain last summer. I still have bouts of PTSD because of it. I suppose it's a good thing you went down Corkscrew as well instead of Poughkeepsie gulch. I like the track you plotted, the few times I've done the loop I just hammer through it starting in Dolores, getting lunch in Lake City, then back through Ouray and Telluride then I'm back before dinner. But I like how you really plotted it out and explored a bunch. You can spend weeks up there taking old mining roads to their ends. Let me know next time you're out in CO and I may be able to join you for a ride (unless you prefer solo, which is cool too) -

I can get you tracks if need be, strega. Awesome ride. Can't believe you braved the snow, crazy fella. Good thing you didn't try black bear or imogene in the snow, we might not have been reading about your travels... -

I used to get ~65mpg on my F650GS. Comparable in most respects to the NC700X

Crazy. Afterall, off-roaders are the primary patrons of "the park." -

Suzuki DRZ - Also a Motorboat
CalNub replied to FuzzyNugs's topic in Articles, Movies, Videos, DS/ ADV Related
I don't think the DRZ had anything, but I'm sure he didn't do the 3x5 mod and left the snorkel intact. -
Hey Dave, I'm wondering if your battery hooks into the stock wiring harness at all. My guess is it just powers the turn signals and is not recharged by the stator. The battery may need to be bench charged.

Race Watch and Baja Lobsters - Sat, May 11th
CalNub replied to Goofy Footer's topic in Informal Local Rides & Who's Going Riding!
Ride report I presume will be forthcoming. But as a brief on the restaurant situation, Luis is where we went and it was $15 for 4 halves (2 small lobsters). They usually do 6 halves for $15 but I think they change it on account of Mother's Day and the fact that potential patrons lined the streets to eat everywhere. The place just below (west of) Luis was selling 7 halves for $15, same fixings as Luis. The place just east o Luis has the worst deal I've seen, $25+ for singles, no small lobster specials, and what looks like a makeshift kitchen. The place on the south west corner of town, I think it's villa ortiz, or something) has the best views, huge windows, and terrace seating that hangs over the beach. They also have what appears to be the most parking. But we just parked the bikes on the sidewalk. -
