Crawdaddy 96 Posted October 25, 2013 Bbbut, How does that happen when you turn off the water main when you leave? I was told NOT to use shutoff because of pressure and possibility that shut off valves behind washer/dryer may blow from continued on/off usage .......screw that.......using shutoff from this point forward.......need to move furniture, peel up carpets, toss padding this morning.......so much for morning singletrack
97xr400r 122 Posted October 25, 2013 ahhh, terrible!
Crawdaddy 96 Posted October 26, 2013 Furniture moved, removed and/or tossed......carpet/padding torn out....bathroom is getting demo'd (dry wall soaked and molding)........drying fans blowing everywhere.......dehumidifiers running.......all that happened by 3pm........so I did what I came out here to do......I went riding around 4pm! Nice ~80 mile ride.....back around 7pm Stream lined a new path from AVI to Oatman so you guys don't need to ride over to my house to start (which is my usual path for obvious reasons)........then went back across the river and screwed around in misc. single track between Mojave Rd. and HWY 163 into Laughlin.........eventually made my way over to the OHV area above Laughlin where I met up with my buddy Steve Enger for a beer......pitch black when I bailed at 6:30 so I slabbed home from there...... House stuff tomorrow morning then meeting the boys at high noon for more fantabulous riding! Managed a few pics tonight..... When it gets dark in BFE it's DARK ...... Crawdaddy 96 Posted October 26, 2013 Rode over to the AVI at ~6am for coffee in the darkness......headed out for Oatman about 6:30.......you're going to want to have wheels turning NO LATER than 7am on Sat the 9th(6am would be better).......remember, 6am is 7am in AZ.......the sun was just behind the hills 3/4 of the way to Oatman......if you wait too long the sun will be directly in your face....and I have a big day planed for you.... Oatman was empty at ~7:45 Moto Art The locals refer to this as "Finger Rock" (PG version) Heading out now for the afternoon Session with the Vegas boys http://Crawdaddy.whereamiriding.com
TwoWheelsGood 0 Posted October 27, 2013 Chris, 100% in for Fri and Sat. Maybe Sunday if you're riding. What range do I need?
Crawdaddy 96 Posted October 27, 2013 Chris, 100% in for Fri and Sat. Maybe Sunday if you're riding. What range do I need? ~100 miles should be adequate for either Friday or Sat (doubt I'll ride Sunday)....... Today I had a good ~100 mile morning followed by a serious afternoon session.......I was fortunate enough to spend the afternoon with local/expert Randy Moos along with Enger and some other new buddies.......Randy lives/races in Bullhead and knows the area like the back of his hand....he's an expert class racer and all around nice guy.......we rode ~40 miles of single track smiles this afternoon and I'm spent after a 6am - 6pm day......Randy has some serious skills....the guy weighs ~140 and he's air born uphill/downhill......amazing to watch until he's just a dust cloud in the distance which doesn't take too long..... This video will give you an idea of what we rode today.....some of which we'll also be riding on Friday the 8th Rest stop pics (no time to snap any others): Ridgeline Religion:

Crawdaddy 96 Posted October 28, 2013 What were the night time temps out there this weekend? According to my truck it was 81 when I came out of the steakhouse at 9pm on Friday night......Temps first thing in the morning were probably in the high 50's/low 60's but you're up into the 70's quickly once the sun comes up..... What's the headcount on this ride? I'm going to take you on some fun stuff between Mojave Rd. and Searchlight.....some of it is kinda skinny/rocky .......that's all I'm sayn on that (I'll also have some easy bypasses for anyone who doesn't want the harder stuff) I think the head count will be around 10ish.....Enger and some buddies may come down from Vegas......a few other non SDAR friends are maybes......and then whomever from SDAR I have some good stuff lined up......I was hoping for a much bigger turnout.......price is right.....
