In honor of @J5ive mentioning Easy Rider, I'm posting the movie intro and asking YOU what the movie meant to you and how it inspired you to get out and Ride - both way back then and currently.

As stated in a different post...Easy Rider did it for me - I wanted to explore the US on a bike - via back roads. I still get out and ride my HD's as much as I can. There's just something about it I can't explain...my wife know's I have the soul of a gypsy. Now it's Youtube, watching all the BDR stuff, trips in Alaska on ADV bikes. In fact, just got back from Alaska, I rented a BMW GS850 up there and did about 1,300 miles paved/dirt (60/40). My inspiration to do Alaska had a lot to do with the Youtube video's I was watching (also, got to check off my 49th state I've ridden a bike in) My new goal is - to do some BDR's on my Tenere 700

WR250R on 22 day trail, and thanks for posting the air evac info, very interesting. I've always bought one of those policies when going for a multi-day trip south of the border, guess I'll re-think that. You're welcome to borrow my inReach anytime I'm not using it, which is usually. It mostly sits in a bin charging $15/mo to my credit card.

Òk. Weather is good . Sand is still damp. Temp is best it's been in months... It's like Xmas for desert riders.

I did the Foster’s Freeze run twice already, so maybe it’s time to plan out the BDR ride Tim?

I am far from ready for a trip of that scale but man that sounds like a great time. I need more skills related to route planning, camping, off-roading, comms gear, everything, etc. That sounds like an absolutely wonderful way to decompress, get out of the rut of work/life, and smash the reset button on mental health. New life goal added.

Hey @shutterrev you can have my 3-bike trailer if it helps you with any of these plans. I can't take time away from Thanksgiving to do stuff like this, but I'm happy to help out with gear.

I'll be doing training with West 38 Moto, coming home for Halloween with the kids, then packing up the land yacht and heading to the campground where the GEICO event is taking place. We got a spot there for the week. I'll have my Africa Twin and my wife's Himalayan on a trailer behind either the RV or the Suburban. That's a lot of riding in a 1-week span!
