Bagstr 288 Posted February 15, 2010 Gentlemen, I find it pretty amazing that we can gather in such a remote location and share the work and the fascination of the Anza Borrego. Thanks for joining in the fun. See you at the Dash.
Bagstr 288 Posted February 15, 2010 Of interest along the way, Halfway north on HoTM wash, a group of about four vehicles CUT a New road over a ridge and established a camp. The Park Rangers, plane and two vehicles did not think this was a good idea. One would think this was an expensive lesson. I hope this event was born out of ignorance not disrespect for the moon scape. Dirtdiver talked to one of the rangers on our return trip and he said a few of the adults got ticketed. paulmbowers 236 Posted February 15, 2010 I wouldn't even say "cut"- they just drove over an area without trails to set up camp out of sight and off the beaten path. Rangers were pissed. I can understand- we should play by the rules or risk being shut down.
dirt dame 561 Posted February 15, 2010 Nice to know they ticket people who actually cut off the established legal roadways, instead of those who didn't. :clapping: And no, I will never stop griping about that.....
Beezzz 6 Posted February 15, 2010 Nice photos. Scenic ride. Badlands spells SAND. I was out at Fonts on Valentines Day with the wife. Too much sand for a beginner. Turned around. Rode north side of Salten Seaway.
ShocknAwe 0 Posted February 15, 2010 Halfway north on HoTM wash, a group of about four vehicles CUT a New road over a ridge and established a camp. Sounds like they sought private refuge in the middle of the desert off the beaten path. I think there places nearby (or designated places) that you can do that, but not in the scenic areas of certain forests and deserts. I heard they will not ticket you if you go off the beaten path with a horse and/or a wagon. :clapping:
