The horned lizard was about 5 or 6 inches long, about average for a full grown one, I'd say.

The horny toad started out in the middle of the trail, so he was easy to spot as he ran for the bushes. I just pulled up next to where he was hiding and stuck the camera down into the branches to get his portrait. Usually they run so fast and so far that I can't even get a shot of them.

Critters rule! Once found a baby horny toad, about the size of a quarter, while out hiking. Doubt the sighting would have happened on a bike. They are so cool!
