CalNub 0 Posted April 6, 2013 Not cheap! You could have you're new tranny for that! A fraction of the cost of the B1k, B500, Norra M1k, etc. At $980, it's a steal.

Slaugo 35 Posted April 19, 2013 Charlie, Kato is a Baja Pro now. It's free to tag along with him anywhere..... You gotta do it at least once. Beautiful country down that away. But if you want security and peace of mind the price aint that bad.

Goofy Footer 539 Posted July 30, 2013 Johnny Campbell Officially Enters the BAJA RALLY ERENDIRA, BC- BajaRallyMoto.com announced today that 11-time BAJA 1000 champion and DAKAR veteran Johnny Campbell of HONDA fame will compete in the inaugural BAJA RALLY this October 4-6 in Northern BAJA. Campbell’s name rounds of a fine list of Champions vying for top honors at this event including Larry Roeseler and Ricky Johnson. “I’m really excited to help bring rally racing to Baja”, Campbell explained today, “I love to navigate for the challenge and added elements that come along with that. I’m sure with all the rally rookies, there will be some great memories that develop from this inaugural BAJA RALLY.” Campbell is a living legend with an unheralded legacy of BAJA wins under his Johnny Campbell Racing (JCR) program that extends the multi-decade HONDA dynasty of the late Bruce Ogilvie. Moreover, Campbell’s rally record is as robust as any American with 3 DAKAR finishes and back-to-back podiums in the Nevada Rally capped by a win. His first DAKAR appearance in 2001 was the best result by an American rookie at the time. “Johnny Campbell is a literal ‘Rockstar’ having a warrior of Johnny’s caliber in this ground breaking event ups the ante for us in a multitude of ways”, according to BAJA RALLY director Scotty Breauxman, “JC has been all over BAJA, from TJ to the tip and from coast to coast. We'll really have to step it up a notch to create stage routes that will test him in places he’s never been before. There is no American who brings more experience to this event than Johnny.” The Inaugural BAJA RALLY is the first ever roadbook-navigation based “rally-raid” for motorcycles only to be held in BAJA CA and will take place on a series of secret course routes beginning in the historically rich wine country of Santo Tomas and ending in the agricultural center of San Quintin. Desertrunner 0 Posted July 31, 2013 I wonder if Campbell's CRF will be in "rally" trim. I can't imagine he'll need as much fuel storage as he does for the Dakar Rally.
Goofy Footer 539 Posted October 16, 2013 Andy Grider won the first Baja Rally when Quinn Cody blew his motor 10 miles from the finish (after leading for 280 miles). Anna Cody was running #208 in memory of her friend, the late Jimmy Stocker. When her motor blew on the beach, a Baja Rally sweep rider gave her his bike to ride into the finish. They changed number plates and she continued through the last stage towards an honorary finish.

Goofy Footer 539 Posted October 17, 2013 Nice! Did they feed you Tim? For the most part I was taken care of. I slept in my truck and had to buy food sometimes but my ride fuel was covered. Some guys from Utah stayed at my house as a pitstop before driving down - they hooked me up with food too and shuttled my truck between the bivouacs. Nice, I've been waiting to hear about this. Any more pics? Did this gracious sweep rider who lent his bike happen to be on a DRZ400? Anna blew up her 250x (her brother blew his 450x) but one of the sweep guys, Lance Kane, offered for her to ride his 450x and swap number plates so she could honor her friend Jimmy Stocker - very cool on his part. The race was great - they will be unveiling promo video footage next week. A helicopter shot lots of footage which they are going to use for a future tv spot. I rode with a medical doctor and he took lots of pics with his dslr. I can post his pics if you like oowwing and aawwing over some sweet rally bikes! I was the lone suzuki at the event, one of only a few street legal bikes. Sweep riding is fun until something goes wrong, then your response time, logistics and emergency preparedness are put to the test. Thankfully nothing bad happened at this race. Anna's motor blew on the beach - when we found her we threw a mini party right there on the sand. The weather was perfect all weekend. Baja Rally 2 will happen May 21-25, 2014 (Memorial Day weekend). Expect longer rally stages (300 miles a day). Also there is a more challenging Rally Diabolico which is going down in April in Sonora, Mexico.
