OK, I had a hard time finding the exact spot, but I must have been very very close. Hey I was chased by bees, so that has to account for something right?

I came in from the Barrett Lake Rd after trying access from the 94 and failing.

Are you sure you didn't go around a No Trespassing sign? I did see a road off the 94, but it was gated.

to far which way? Is going past no trespassing signs aloud?

SDAR promotes a Tread Lightly ideology and does not condone trespassing.

That said, I'm sure there must be a legal way to the Tag point as the Tagger and another member both know the spot. DRDan, I can guess the area but have no clue how to access it. Maybe post up another clue to help your fellow DR rider out seeing as he already tried and got close?

Btw 2 blue and white DRs got me confused for a second.

it has been a long time but at the time there were no keep out signs. I dont want to hijack someone's tag but if you see the flume up on the side of the hill you passed it.

Yeah, me too.

Mine is only a 600.

If you drove by this... You went too far on that street.turn around.

Entrance obviously easy to miss...

None no tresspassing signs, but a dented up gate further up that hidden path.

It was open and it looked like it wasn't working. But no signs.

Good luck.

I remember stories of tubing down that, hairy in the tunnels when the water is high and the spiders are low.

Well, I don't remember seeing this arch. I did follow the service road to the flume and walked along it for a ways, all along the north side of 94, so I must have been close. I made a left turn here... 32.621607,-116.693071

Looking forward to see the actual spot. I don't know the area too well...

I thinky you gotty.

Looking at your pictures, especially the second one, On a monitor......I can see more detail.

Lets compare:

IMAG0529.jpg

If the path was steep and paved @ the entrance, then for sure you found it.

Lemme know.

Edit: and I looked up the coordinates.... You TAGed it.

Post a new one. :drinks:

Yep, that's where I was. If you walk forward past the railing, you'll run into the bees nest :)

I'll post a new location this weekend...

"GOOD" hunting

There is a highway to the east, doesn't connect here, but it runs north and south, it has signs that say "Take care getting there"

OK, I'll bite. How does "GOOD" relate to "Martha's Grove access to Sycamore Cyn?"

I've not heard of Martha's Grove, but the spot is correct.

Part of the Sycamore Canyon preserve is a place call the Goodan Ranch, goodanranch.org. This trail head in the photos overlooks the ranch.

The small green sign at the top of the post next to the large gate says "Goodan Ranch"

I've always known this spot as Martha's grove; It is part of sycamore cyn preserve. If that is not the correct name, please accept my most humble apology.

Doesn't pavement eat up those knobby tires?

Not so much. I run Dunlop 606's. They're a fairly hard compound and do really well on the pavement (They're not very good in the dirt, though)

OK new tag.

First Hint. I had a fantastic breakfast of oatmel apple walnut pancakes, which I HIGHLY recommend (Order the short stack. Seriously)

Second Hint. A short ride from your pancake breakfast, you can hit this trail (Keeping the trailhead theme alive). Great for Mtn Bike, hiking, or horses.

Sorry to all those that want this to get back in the dirt. I had a very nice street ride with my Pops and this where I ended up. Peace.
