I guess I'll get out there before 9:30 for the ribbon cutting then hang out for a while, ride, eat and maybe hang long enough for the second riding session.

Robert see you there, mimi see you there hopefully.

It'll be good to get back to the Live Oaks Springs track again. If you are wondering what I mean by "again", it's that this track isn't the first one out there. I remember riding a couple of races in the summer of 1975 at the AMA district 38 track at Live Oak Springs. It was very sandy and they really soaked it with the water truck.

I remember riding at least one MX race there sometime in the mid 70's. I can't remember excatly when it was but I do recall it was extremely dusty. Must have been before they found out about water trucks. Seems like it was a long course for a MX race; out and about through the hills and sage brush.

One of the things I recall about one of the races was that I ran over some poor guy that fell over in the first turn and I couldn't see for all the dust. Also, on the way out from the track on the dirt road I rolled my dad's partially restored '54 Chevy pickup when my EX-girlfriend yanked the sterring wheel for no apparent reason. Screwed up a bunch of the body work and broke her brothers arm. That was not a good time.

I understand my brother is working up there helping setup and maintain the track. I haven't talked to him yet about it but I'm going to try and make it up there for the festivities on Saturday. Hope to see some of you there.

I'm guessing or at least hoping that the entrance will be well marked and easily seen. I hope it's not easy to get the two tracks mixed up. As far as I can tell by reading some of the threads on both of of them, it looks like the entry points are in the same area off of old highway 80.

I hope its marked better than it was. I rode my street bike up there two weeks ago to try and find the Live Oak Springs track and the other one (Golden Acorn?) At the store/campground at Live Oak Springs I rode up the road and found the Golden Acorn track but not the Live Oak Springs track. Looked like it could have been across the highway from the store (on the south side of the highway) but was not readily marked. I didn't see any signs for either one of them. I knew where the GA track was because you can see it from the freeway east of the wind generator towers.

I just got back from the golden acorn track, on the way there I stopped by the D38 track and checked it out. Its right across the street from the live oaks resort. Its on the south side of old 80 about 2 miles east of the casino, you won't be able to miss it on saturday, I'm sure there will be lots of people there.

see ya then.

Yeah, we went out to McCain this morning and checked it out. I didn't see it before, but saw it all marked today and saw the banner tape near the entry road, so no problem there. We also drove over and had a look see at the Acorn site too, so now I know where both of them are.

I plan to be there before 9 am. Looking forward to seeing everybody there. I don't usually ride track but this looks like it might be fun. I think the 300 will be a good weapon for this.

I rode my old EXC250 on the track once. It's one of the nicest enduros that you can take on a motocross track. It felt the MXiest of any of my enduros that I have had.
