robertaccio 436 Posted September 8, 2024 (edited) For all intents and purposes not a DS machine..... for now anyway. I got one of these today. On 300 2 strokes since 2014, back to midsize 4 strokin'. Last racing 4T was a 2013 Husky TXC310R (Italian BMW Husky). I will keep my 1999 TE610 as my primary DS machine. From GP Motorcycles of course. https://gpmotorcycles.com/bikes/husqvarna.php Edited September 8, 2024 by robertaccio

SpaceCowboy 71 Posted September 9, 2024 Cool! Where will be her primary stomping grounds?
robertaccio 436 Posted September 10, 2024 Mostly for use around SD county and some SoCal and N BC area rides and races. She will be equipped with Nevada's own Taco Moto tuning. I plan to keep this machine as OEM as possible. Not like my last few race prepped machines.
robertaccio 436 Posted September 16, 2024 Well first ride went well. 100% OEM stock, new chassis is great, suspension is very well done out of the box, even with my over the standard weight. engine is very mild and easy to control in OEM set up, more like a 250F with a boost of torque. Engine revs to the moon if you like. Front was tiny bit "skatey" if I weighted back too much, but thats a heavy guy without any sag adjustments. As a tough enduro bike, I think out of the box she is good as is. Super quiet and stealthy.
mctrails 44 Posted September 17, 2024 Hey Robert, Congrats on the new Husky! Not trying to hijack your thread here but I just picked up a new 2024 FE 501s (dual sport model) from GP Moto. After first stock ride I have to say best out of the box bike ever. Super impressed with Husky setup. They seemed to have us old farts in mind when they built these new bikes. Looking forward to putting it thru the paces.

The entire package is brilliant. Even in its super stealthy so called plugged up OEM setup, the thing runs flawlessly, and even does get "on the cam" nicely
Bagstr 295 Posted September 22, 2024 (edited) Robert, Is the Fe-W a compliant bike? I don’t see signals on the factory page. With a link. Edited September 22, 2024 by Bagstr
Bagstr 295 Posted September 22, 2024 The 450 XCFW PDS I have enjoyed since last summer has been an improvement over the ‘16 XCW. The new frame geometry is precise and stable down to walking speeds. I think you will appreciate the mid-valve forks At 190lbs, I hardly ever bottom the front and sag was 109mm with with stack spring. Again PDS. There is talk of the frame too rigid. ?? , Possibly on the SX, but don’t sense it on XCFW. State of tune is beyond complain. Assuming you are on the corked motor, I expect you will be in heaven soon. With the new ECU. The mass central thing seems instill confidence. Nothing like quality hardware. Dave McTrails, Have fun on a great bike. I have heard that comment about Husky and mature riders before.

The FE350w turns out is a bit of a error in my judgement at some level. Basically a fully 50 state compliant off road bike. In other words if she had the street gear she would be a DS machine. The ECU and exhaust is the same as the S model. It's a stripped down S model. I guess it is a fully off-road "green sticker" bike. So with what I have done to her I could have started with an S model and had a legit plate. I have been riding her well, but I am still on a learning curve. I knew going in that the KTM 350 powerplant likes RPM, which in past tests I was not turned onto as opposed to the Beta 350 which RPM wise is kind of the same, but I gelled immediately with the Beta and just went right into race pace mode. This FE has me adjusting , I really hit race pace in the last PMX race in Tecate ( won the 60+ class) as well as this last couple of McCain rides. Also with some added hard enduro type control stuff, which was well within my grasp on my former 300s (2 strokes) 14, 17 and 21 Huskys. There It's been taking some time to use the 350 correctly. Back story my first race was also my first entry into the 2 loop format 60+ class in the Tecate Enduro and I came away not enjoying the machine at all. I was not doing well in the Tecate single track, just a fish out of water. Better with time I raced a local Tractor HS southeast of TJ and won my 60+ class and started feeling better at faster pace and in the technical sections. Then is the last PMX race at El Chale, Tecate I was flowing much better and rode super well through the technical sections (that were quite sporting and stopped alot of guys) Edited April 8 by robertaccio
