Met Maddog Mike Sunday morning in Jamul, another friend Tony (WSMC99) showed up on his DRZ400 Supermoto and we rode to Potrero for breakfast. Then Randy Wynant showed up on his street bike. After breakfast, Mike and I headed east, while RW and Tony headed home for other commitments.

Heading east on 94, we decided to stop to see if Mr. Cross Country was home......he came out a few minutes later after I knocked on his door.......

Of course, we had to celebrate John's return from his trip, with a cold one....

Carguy declined the invitation to go for a ride, so we headed out 94 to the dirt road along Buckman Springs to La Posta Rd., then heading up the mountain on dirt from La Posta to Thing Valley. Go to Member's Only Post under same write-up for info about gates on Laguna.

After Thing Valley, we headed up Sunrise to the Mt. Laguna store for liquid replenishment. CHP and Sheriff's were out on Cuyamaca and Sunrise, luckily a friend warned us by calling us while we were at breakfast.

From Sunrise, we headed down Pine Creek, the narrow, twisty broken pavement road.....and turned off a little side trail to a dead end overlook

Riding through the pine forest on Deer Park....some pines lived, while much of the forest burned a couple years ago......what a shame

After heading up Deer Park to Sunrise Hwy. again, we stopped at the overlook where the hang gliders launch from and talked to another rider on his Harley, we had a lot in common.....we exchanged stories, as he was also a roadracer (Ducatis) and interested in getting an Adventure Bike and knew my friends down at GP Motorcycles downtown.

Later, we explored a double secret, special trail in the Oriflamme Canyon/Mason Valley Truck Trail vicinity.....(again, see Member's Only Post)

After more exploring, I dropped it hard while turning around, on these rocks

Because we decided not to head up this on our big pigs.....

Not many pics today....just some great riding and exploring locally. We explored more near the Julian Landfill, looking for new trails, but they all looped or dead-ended, didn't find anything worthwhile. I dropped it hard again, while turning around on another rocky uphill, this time on the opposite side

It was getting late in the day, and we rode in to the Wrong Branch Saloon in Julian for lunch at 4:30pm. They lost their liqour license recently, so after throwin' a burger down our necks, we went to the BBQ place for a cold one, then headed home on pavement and got home about 6:00pm. No complaints on our 190 mile day.

Justin and I rolled into Carguy's Casa around 2 , sorry we missed you Randy and Mike. We had allot of fun on the VMax and the R1. We did the 94 (saw the Getto Bird buzzing and slowed down of course  and Buckman Springs to old Hwy 80. We were gonna do Sunrise but John told us that you gave him a heads up about the speed trap up there... ;)

So we just slabbed it back to my house. Yesterday was a perfect day for a ride! Hope we keep getting some decent temps so we can keep enjoying some great riding!

Nope, Escon-dildo.

Well now I know why Schwinn lives there.

There's a guy a few houses up from me that has a bunch of BMWs, one of them is a yellow GS, a Dakar and a few others.

Did you check out the seismic recording station on top the hill by the landfill?

It is just South of the Landfill aka Transfer Station. As you approach the gate turn right and go up the very rutted hill. I don't see it in google maps picture but it is in this area

Ah, we found that hill, but avoided the rutted uphill since we were on the big pigs. We found a little dirt road with a street sign, which proceeded around the west side of same hill, then up the south side......but it got real rocky and dead ended.........where I dropped it hard trying to turn around :drinks::drinks:

Have to check out the seismic-thingy next time I'm in the area.
