husq-a-daygo 0 Posted August 26, 2015 Got the invite to ride last weekend to Mikes with my friends from Los Ancianos MC. Got up early Saturday morning and met up at the parking lot on the US side of the border so we could ride across. We headed off to meet up with the rest of the Ancianos club at the compound in Tecate. We threw our extra gear in the chase truck and headed south towards the pine forest under beautiful blue skies. Took some single track goodness off the Compadre Trail. We came across a new look out tower constructed to scan for fires. I climbed up a snapped a few pics of the boys riding by. Rode it to Ramona's and got some gas and a couple beers and burritos. Classico 2000 XR650R muy bueno por baja! Jordan a D37 racer and epic roost rider. Burrito cheers Doc Steve (always good to have one on a Mexico trip) Miguel rips and is a baja vet and previous 1000 racer. Ron helped organize the ride and lives to ride in baja. Gene is an avid dual sporter and is currently working on some new tracks to go to cool places. After hanging out at Ramona's for a few we headed out to Valle T via some of the 1000 course and the goat trail. It was pretty hot in the desert after dropping down from the pine forest. Made it for some more tacos and beer at El Rancho. Miguel brushed a cactus on the way in. Ouch A local kid named Efrain came around and wanted to hang out. Tried to teach him how to chaka. Cooled off after some Mexico Coors Light and ready to head up the final leg to Mikes. Made it to Mikes around 4 PM (first group to arrive and we took a fairly good amount of single track to boot) Cooling off poolside before the rest of the group showed up. And they starting trickling in. Wasnt too rowdy a group this weekend. I heard last trip someone ran across the seats of all the bike lined up and a few got knocked over. My bike is the fourth down from the left. Pool Party commenced. Into the evening. Dinner was good. Mucho Carne. Went to sleep around 10PM. Pretty tired from the couple hundred mile trip down. I woke up around 2AM and looked out at the stars which were amazingly bright. Woke up ready to have some more fun. We paid our respects on the way back. On the way back Ron's front sprocket sheared off and he had to get towed about 30 miles. My subframe broke due to the massive amount of whoops we took and had it flopping around but we made it back safe without any carnage. It was a rad trip and I cant wait to go back to ride some more in the wonderland called baja Mex.
