Slaugo

Saturday, July 18th Diego to Desert ride.

This should be a good ride report since you guys are taking off in the middle of a lighting storm, the likes of which I haven't seen in So Cal. in years. Be safe.

Yep, great light and sound show here in San Elijo Hills.

Reminds me of a ride I did with Slaugo and Vanjoosten in the desert after lots of rain. There was lots of slippery mud, high heat and humidity. The trail we were on was obliterated by the recent rains. As Slaugo scouted for a way out, thunderstorms were building up and it got even more interesting....

Just another day riding with Slaugo!

Im down to ride. How early we talking? I can meet in Ramona, coming from PB. Not too much of an early bird though.

Great meeting you Jesse! I like the way you ride that KLR! You're one of the confirmations that the black ones are the fastest =D

Friggen awsome ride! The early ride to Ramona from the coast was an electric way to start the day. The constant and sometimes close lightning strikes had me wide eyed and white knuckled, "who needs coffee". After a little huddling under the awning at Packards till the storm passed we headed out. Scott lead us on an awesome loop. Fun to ride at a fast pace with other KLR"s. Scott and Jeremy made for great riding company. Leaving the dez up the mountain we split up in Julian, Jeremy and I stopped at the Cooler for cold refreshments and burritos. Great day, was not too hot and never got cold.

Looks like great time with great temps!

Slaugo when did you go to a Klr?

Hey Bum, hope all is well with you and yours. l got a smoking deal on it when I last lived here. I sold my CRF and DRZ and XR650 when we moved to Texas. I kept the KLR for school transport and found its an all around great DS/ADV bike. . Plus it slows me down and makes me work more =)

In Texas it's not unusual to ride 2-4 hundred miles to get to a destination for good riding.

Thanks to Ken I can pack the mule down with a weeks supply of food and water and then i bury my bags and ride light until it's time to set up camp. It's a give and take solution that works very well. The KLR is both dirt/sand and road worthy.

I plan on getting something fast again once I get some spare cash.

Like I always tell the Kaboom crowd, not everyone can afford a KLR =D

It's a partial of a great loop. Thanks guys. Eagle Mike has continued to help make it what it is even since Ive moved to Texas. He can make any KLR great :)

Glamis is always fun on any bike. But during the months of June and July it's awesome not to have traffic.
