This appears to be on Lost Valley Rd. as it turns south from Chihuahua Valley towards or actually into the Los Coyotes Indian Reservation. Sheriff release below. ******************* InformationType: Media Release Subject of Release: Missing Persons from Valley Center Other Information: Person Providing Information: Lt. They were last seen leaving the Valley View Casino in Valley Center California. On May 24th at about 2:30 p.m. off-road enthusiast traveling in a very remote area of northeastern San Diego County happened upon a vehicle that was stranded along a dirt road. When they investigated closer, they discovered an elderly couple inside the vehicle. The male occupant was deceased but the female occupant, who has been confirmed to be Dianna Bedwell, was found alive but in serious condition. The off-roaders contacted the Los Coyotes Tribal authorities who in turn responded to the vehicle and assisted in the rescue of the female passenger and called for the San Diego Sheriff's Department. Bedwell was evacuated to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries. Sheriff's homicide investigators responded to the hospital and were able to obtain a brief statement from Bedwell. The preliminary investigation indicates that the couple became lost soon after leaving the casino while attempting to find a shortcut to their ultimate destination. They remained with their vehicle until ultimately found. As of the writing of this media release, investigators with the San Diego County Sheriff's Department are still on scene of the located vehicle, attempting to recover the remains of the deceased male. The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office must still confirm the identity of the male as well as the cause and manner of death. http://apps.sdsheriff.net/press/Default.aspx?FileLink=b7d9f0b8-30dd-4e10-8ef6-394000d4798b
EddieEarl 6 Posted May 25, 2015 Brutal. How sad. Hopefully it was an innocent mistake this elderly couple made, but something sure 'smells' fishy to me.
Hayseed 0 Posted May 25, 2015 I was one of the six people who found the couple. I shot the GoPro video you see on NBC7. I gave the interview to 7 because a friend of mine works for the station. My phone has been ringing off the hook since. All six of us played a role in helping to evacuate the woman. I stopped giving interviews and have contacted another member of the group to ask them if they would like to share their stories with the press but for now, I'm done. it was the last thing we expected to find out there. We developed a plan to contact authorities and provide care to the woman while we waited for help to arrive. We all hope she recovers, but unfortunately I feel the loss of her husband may be difficult to overcome. Keep her in your prayers.

tvscum 43 Posted May 26, 2015 Does anybody know if it is possible to reach this location from the the north going south on Borrego Palm Canyon Rd. from the Boy Scout camp into the reservation? Or, is there a gate blocking access to the Los Coyotes Reservation from the north? https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=zh4Lm72ckhyM.kTDXlQLQ6c_Y&usp=sharing
