I have that bike and you're gonna like it!  Hit me up if you need to uncork it.  Poor bike is strangled in stock condition

Thanks,  I think it's uncorked, I know the reed on the intake is removed and there is a different end cap along with a fuel management system.  (not quite the way I would do it but I am still researching stuff)   I did notice it vibrates quite a bit, from what I read, that's what the 17-19's do?  I am use to my 790 and 300 tpi which are both butter smooth

  2. Who else is going?  I am going with @Rjg967 and possibly 2 other riders, who may flake out on it.  I've never done one and understand the concept I am thinking on taking the 500 over the 790?  mainly because it's new to me and I've only ridden it to work yesterday,  I don't think I will have time to ride this weekend, so my first time riding it in dirt will be this rally.

How many miles is done in a day?  I have a 3 gal tank so range is limited

Anyways, we have a camping spot but sounds like we don't have an RV now, it needs to go to Bishop to reserve the spot for the winter.  I cannot stay over night regardless due to my dog's health issues.  So we have a staging area.

Our team name is "Jose your blinker is on"  It's an inside joke for one of the guys supposed to go that we endlessly harass.

So who else is going and what's your team name?  Maybe we can meet up

    Very nice. Looks brand new.

I am so glad i Sumo'd my 525 and kept the setup for my 450 as it easily knocks 20 years of your age. Soooo fun.

Thanks and yeah I converted my YZ450 to SM,  took it to Adams quite a few times, so much fun.  guess I need to lose the gut to fit back into my 1 piece leathers,  I will be taking to to Palomar for sure

  4. A compulsive buy off a friend.  The bike has 24 hrs and 708 mi on it.  Suspension revalved for desert and some track use at 220 (should be perfect for me)  It also came with KTM supermoto wheels and the supermoto brake and master cylinder setup.  The color scheme is not my type but I ordered my own numbers, I am excited to ride some terrain between the 300 and 790,  Like Pinyon to Fish creek etc...

  5. Anyone doing this?  I've done the last 2 events and its amazing single track riding with options of black diamond (expert) sections, but if you stay the main course, I would say it's a intermediate trail.  500cc or less unless you are freak.  It's some of the best riding in So Cal IMO.

This is not a race, its just a big event to get the privilege of riding pristine single track on a reservation.  If I can remember correctly, the course it roughly 32 mi.  You can do as many laps as you want but cannot leave for another loop after 12 pm.  Some people pack beverages, pull over, relax and enjoy the break.  Others want to challenge themselves.  I would highly suggest trying it if you never have.

I may have a spare (loaner bike 2005 CRF250R) as a loaner if someone wants to try it.  I am currently rebuilding it along with a bunch of money invested in the suspension

Here is a video of a guy to takes the advanced sections. At 14:40 is the hard section, don't be intimidated by the hard sections.  You don't have to take them.

If anyone signs up, lets link up for a group ride

I'll be doing training with West 38 Moto, coming home for Halloween with the kids, then packing up the land yacht and heading to the campground where the GEICO event is taking place. We got a spot there for the week. I'll have my Africa Twin and my wife's Himalayan on a trailer behind either the RV or the Suburban. That's a lot of riding in a 1-week span!

    See you there
