Boston Mangler 0 Posted December 1, 2006 Wow, I would like to go, but not to sure if I can abide by the stiff timing requirements. Its all about the ride with friends, not what time you leave or finish. I wouldn't want anyone to override themselves to make a deadline and get into trouble. Just my 2-cents of caution!/Kev Ok, maybe next time! All kidding aside, I agree with ya 100% on this! I have "some" time to ride on the weekends, usually in the AM, as there is usually "stuff" filling up my afternoons. A few of use have been riding in the EARLY AM, stopping for a nice lunch and BS session and then finishing up early afternoon. That schedule has worked great! The earlier i can start, the more i can ride, that is what i am trying to do/say!
ADV Bum 205 Posted December 2, 2006 Im out!! While changing oil and prepping for the big ride, I noticed moisture/ oil around one of my case bolts. It seems it stripped the threads out of the block/case! DDAAAMMMNNN IT to hell. Looks like I get to look forward to a nice long day of work. Good luck! Be safe. Document everything. Sorry if i come across harsh, but i dont want a repeat of the ride in the other thread and be waiting around forever on someone that doesnt even show or call! This is going to be a blast, hopefully everyone makes it. Kevin Aka The Angry Anal Retentive Punctual Guy That Dont Tolerate Late Slackers! p.s. sorry you cant make it mike, hopefully we can ride soon!

I actually would prefer a starting meeting time of 9AM and a leaving time around 9:30. That way we dont have to get on the road so early as some of us have an hour commute to Ramona!!!! But I understand that its "your" ride, so you can call the shots! Thx for organinzing the ride.

PastaPilot 17 Posted December 2, 2006 I am all about the 9AM meeting time. I don't have a problem meeting earlier but am I the only one that thought about the forecast low temperatures in Ramona and Julian. Weather for Ramona, CA 48°F Clear Wind: N at 0 mph Humidity: 44% Fri 74° | 32° Sat 71° | 34° Sun 72° | 33° Mon 72° | 31° Weather for Julian, CA 61°F Clear Wind: SW at 4 mph Humidity: 20% Fri 73° | 45° Sat 72° | 42° Sun 70° | 41° Mon 73° | 45° I and pyro have a one hour commute to Ramona that means we leave at 630 to try and make it on time. Dare I post the windchill on a 65mph ride. I still plan to be there and will send PM about meeting with pyro, Boston and Alex but maybe it's time to remember it's december not July. See ya tomorrow

Boston Mangler 0 Posted December 2, 2006 ya, gonna be cold tomorrow morning. . . REFRESHING! It should warm up later though. I will be there at the time 7:30am to join whoever wants to ride at that time. Unfortunately, a 9am start is too late for me, i got a ton of stuff i have to get done later in the day The Cold weather is mighty refreshing to me! Personally, i prefer riding in the colder weather! See ya there at 7:30am!
KIP 0 Posted December 2, 2006 Talked to Boston Mangler (BM) tonight and he asked me to post for him. Meeting time is 7:30 in Ramona at Mobil and 8:30 at Norms Gas Station In Julian Ride will be pavement up to Julian/Banner then through Mesa Grande on the way back to Ramona Dirt will be the short loop through Oriflamme down to S2 then back up on Rodrigus - those that want to go desert exploring can continue from S2. Similar to Carguy and Sandiegolands ride where I stole all their riders when I broke off to go back home -- http://www.dualsport-sd.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=319 -- Sorry Guys, I felt bad. As someone said it is BMs ride but that doesnt mean that some of you guys cant meet up later and do the same route. Just post here to let everyone know how many to look for in Ramona at 7:30 and How many in Julian at 8:30 or a later group?
Boston Mangler 0 Posted December 2, 2006 Thanks Paul I made it home earlier then i thought, but thanks for posting up. I am sticking to the original time and dressing warm! I think it would be best if we seperated into 2 groups anyway. Most of the folks interested in the later time, also sound like the same folks interested in Sand, so that might work out perfect! I know me and my 2 friends coming are early birds and no sand interest! See ya at 7:30am in Ramona and 8:30am in Julian! I actually would prefer a starting meeting time of 9AM and a leaving time around 9:30. That way we dont have to get on the road so early as some of us have an hour commute to Ramona!!!! Yes, i am one of those folks! I got about a 45-50min ride. I Like the early bird start for a few reasons: I like to be on the "roads" with as few cars as possible! Also, with all of the "traffic"/close calls we have been seing in the afternoon around the Palomar Divide and Black Canyon Trails, i would like to be on and off the trails as early as possible! Also, it leaves the remainder of the afternoon free for other things! But I understand that its "your" ride, so you can call the shots! Thx for organinzing the ride. No, nothing is mine! I am just organizing some friends to go ride. Paul is the actual "Leader" as i have never done this run! I am letting him call the shots. As long as i am on my bike and in the dirt, i am happy! Ride On! but am I the only one that thought about the forecast low temperatures in Ramona and Julian. No, just the only wuss!
pyro 1 Posted December 2, 2006 There will be a Cage Match after the ride sponsored by José Quervo. Location yet to be announced.

PastaPilot 17 Posted December 2, 2006 Sorry all, wuss or not, I am backing out of the 730 AM meeting. It's 11PM, I'm just getting home, I'm not sober, and I have a skidplate to install before I ride tomorrow. I am still riding, If I don't here from anyone I'll likely go explore Pamo Rd and Black Canyon some more. I'll stop by the Mobil around 9AM. If there's anybody there by 930. Cool, the late crew can go out, if not, No problems. I'll catch ya all next time.
KIP 0 Posted December 2, 2006 Cool a ride for all!!! Sounds like Carguy is doing a private ride? BM there is a bit of sand toward s2 if we go that far - its optional so we can discuss that tomorrow. Drilled out my Gas Cap lock, Put the new MT21 on the rim. Still have to bolt it on the bike tonight. Good luck to HP with your skidplate (good idea - ask chiefgunner!), . hope you and any later riders have a safe-fun-ride.
