Bear Valley and Corral Canyon (Aug.22.2021)

Recommended Posts

I had a great solo ride on Sunday, that for a noob like me was a complete mini-adventure. I say mini-adventure because it involved a week of preparation on google map, garmin basecamp and getting advice from you guys (on the facebook group). The original idea was to start at the Pine Valley trailhead, and go down Bear Valley all the way to Buckman Springs, then Corral Canyon. I ended up going down Bear Valley then taking the Long Valley Road loop. I read some people saying that wasn't a very challenging route, but for me it was loads of fun!

Then on Corral Canyon I attempted taking the Bronco Flats trail, but that was too much for me. Got the bike stuck and had a mini adventure getting it unstuck. Got the help from a fellow e-mountain biker and made a new friend.

Came back sore and with a smile from ear to ear.

I bought some knobby tires because I was dropping the bike too much. I thought the problem was lack of traction. Then I invested on some aftermarket for the piece that goes on top of the seat (yep, that’s me) by having a 1-1 class with Daniel Sedlak and it totally boosted my skills and confidence.

Now I’m going to use the stock tires until I can, and only go for knobbys when I have a big trip like a BDR.

No, I had to use a translator. Italian is such a beautiful language. So many ways to say love, and it shows in it's people.
