ADV Bum 205 Posted April 2, 2016 I realized I needed a large wrench for the axles on the 990 today. I think we were discussing the box end inserts a couple months ago. This seemed like a good deal. I did order a set. If I made a mistake let me know so I can get something else. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiI6oyP7u7LAhUNzWMKHYg_Ci0QFghSMAE&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cyclegear.com%2FSTOCKTON-TOOL-COMPANY-Aluminum-Off-Road-Tire-Combo-Lever-Set&usg=AFQjCNE_j5aL3oELAc3YwMnW7Otq2Nv8Vg&sig2=pWh71aEpMV9-_KA9VxkoYg
Bp619 107 Posted April 2, 2016 Seems like a solid kit and the sizing should be right depending which kit you got to fit your rim lock, if the adventure comes with one. I doubt though there will be enough clearance with that wrench to fit your axle pinch and the axle adjuster bolts have to use a open end wrench so i dont see the need for the smaller sized one most, 10 12 and 13mm bolts on bikes need a socket
ADV Bum 205 Posted April 2, 2016 I wanted more spoons so I looked at the second as a bonus.
Mikey777 44 Posted April 2, 2016 I have that same set. Works fine on the 990. After seeing that Mongo Enduro video at Danrider's house, it would be nice to have some longer spoons for more leverage though.

Vacman 0 Posted April 3, 2016 I have the same set. They're definitely light but provide minimal leverage. Better than nothing but I'd go with something bigger.

Sometimes the bigger tires are even easier. Hardest part is breaking the bead. Use the center stand for that. If you don't know this technique, let me know and I'll explain it a little more. Bp619 107 Posted April 4, 2016 Yeah ive breaken the bead with bike stand before but the motoz desert ht i have on 950 is a monster to put on, sidewall is crazy stiff.
ADV Bum 205 Posted April 9, 2016 I got my spoons in the mail. They seem very nice and much bigger than what I used to change the tire on the 990 the other day. https://www.google.com/shopping/product/2325136158014049752?q=motion+pro+tire+irons&espv=2&biw=1777&bih=887&bav=on.2,or.r_cp.&ion=1&tch=1&ech=1ψ=sj4JV5S5LszHmwHz07jgBQ.1460223765263.3&prds=paur:ClkAsKraX9sb3E1Ctupn2me9RzXGeTJVKktBnNarfGDWnl4fIhQ9_f4x6fDw0WnKomi-mQ5n2pFpbRzzTx9sR0EhPRbnAT03XELe0gCyrlGz4ehQjxP7s0ZbRBIZAFPVH72_D_fwCT_q4F_4p8Ecrmxb3zgcJA&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiCt8m6jYLMAhXI2SYKHeZ7CZUQ8wIIkgMwCA
