Recommended Posts

So no one showed up for my ride no big deal haha was a last minute deal and it's nice to get out and about on your own sometimes.

Going up Veijas Grade

AFter taking the detour though pine valley due to construction stopped at the little one lane bridge. I was going to go up and over to the Sunrise Hwy but the Forest Service gates were closed. I rode around on the sunrise highway and they were closed on that side as well.

Shot over to Pine Valley OHV area and had a little bike nap just before the Helipad. Skidplate bottomed out going down hill (I picked a bad line for the strom) and it pitched me over to the left since the ground that the skidplate landed on was unlevel. Power lifted it out of the small wash out spot and then got it on a semi level piece of ground but couldn't use the kickstand so I just leaned it over on the hill.

Ate my lunch of Beefaroni on the Helipad. When I rolled up another group from SDAR was there gearing up to leave out. We said our hellos and goodbyes and they went on their way. I finished up my lunch and decided instead of going all the way back out to the PIne Valley Cul De Sac I'd go down to Buckman SPrings road and boogie on back to the house to see the wife and kiddo before I have to go to work this week.

I thought about joining you but I'm nursing a calf injury. Looks like you had fun.

More backtracking than I like to do but overall a good time. I've started doing more short half day rides and less weekend long rides since the kiddo was born. It's great that there are great riding areas like this around here. And my orginal plan was to have lunch on Skyline Drive but it's all closed off right now. Oh well lunch at the Helipad was nice as well.

Sounds like a nice half day of riding. I saw you parked on the helipad as I roosted by on my smoker. Guess I should have stopped and said hi

Cool write up and pics. Looks like you had a great ride and I’m always stoked to see a DL getting it done. Nice! I too shifted from weekend rides to half day rides since having a child. It’s all good. :smile_anim:
