Not a crazy obstacle day, a bit more mellow than usual and good since I was on a loaner bike. No pics of me, other than a yellow front fender.

350thump, I have no idea. Honestly, I've been riding McC for years and couldn't tell you a single trail name. I could however tell you where various large and small rocks are located.

Good to meet all you Rock Climbers. Typical civil polite SDAR Crowd. :P

Talked trucks, bikes, kids

The gang had already been out on a loop when I got around to showing up on-site. They politely waited around for Dave gear up.

Thanks gang.

I was out to test GPS operation, so I took off pretty quick on my own. Later, I caught on the tail of the dragon a couple of times, but I doubt anyone realized I was there.

Many loops west, east, over-lapping. GPS and mount worked well, Bike works terrific with 2 gallons of gas in the tank

Word is they are writing tickets, but that north boundary is still un-marked in many places. Are those white PVC poles the west boundary?? Was able to make a track and mark waypoints as well as follow old track. Ready to go!

I look forward to seeing you guys down in the Dez

The "Big Rock" monolith with the climbing pitons is technically the northern boundary. FY'allsInfo

I recognize that one trail you guys are on, you know the one, the one with the rocks, manzanita and cactus on it......

Temps and conditions were great!

My battery on the other hand was acting up and cut out 15 mins into the ride.

We tried bump starting it but no go.

We split the group and agreed to meet back at the staging area where i had jumper cables.

Unfortunately, we weren't able to meet the other group until later in the afternoon.

I'll be out for about a month, but will be back in November.

Hope to see you all out there again (and this time, i will have a new battery!).

Up, the pic makes it seem more dramatic. I was on a torque machine loaner and I did not want to loop her going up, thus I dork throttle/clutched it lost momentum with the front on the top and rear off the dirt (on rock), and had to bail out. I lost my footing at the bottom and rolled away. It was all slow and easy. Not a difficult rock by any means, well except for me trying it that day. Heehaw.

No problem, as long as everyone got in a good ride, then all is well.

Have a look at ZipTy Racing's Catalog- Earth-X Battery, ultra lite with built in electronics to balance the charge, typical Ty stuff, bullet proof.

Well that's a bummer... I looked 'em up and ordered a new EarthX before I saw this post! Oh well. Guess since I don't ride a Husky, I shouldn't complain!

There are Shorai batteries as well. I have two. On the acid free batteries make sure to read their care i.e., charging. If you ride twice a month you're pretty golden, but if you have a bike that sits for a long time they need a little charging care or they will die. Depending on the brand, but they can't sit on a float tender forever like an acid battery. They do sell tenders specific for these batteries.

The right care they should outlast a lead acid, reportedly two fold.

Really just tell them I sent you and to use the CH10 code.....no seriously, tell them Robert N directed your business to them, Im sure you will get the same discount. Thing I really like about the Earth-X (and why ZipTy likes them as well) is that they have the internal individual cell charge balancing circuitry.
