Spaugh 1 Posted November 17, 2012 carguy, there is some fix that they made in 2003 for those bikes. There is a piece on the cam gear that can come loose on the old bikes. The 2003+ part is all one piece and can't come off. Here is a photo of yours: and here is a photo of the new one: You need to either buy part 26 from a 2003+ RFS or just red locktite on part number 50. And get part 4 from the newer bike so nothing can get in the bottom end in case you have a top end problem. PS, don't worry, the bike is super durable, they just had the one issue. do the updates, part 50 will come loose eventually and F everything up if you don't.
