bacchussd 0 Posted October 16, 2012 I'm new to GPS units and ready to throw this thing out the window. Garmin help rep was not helpful. All I want to to is have maps for CA, and Utah. I cant seem to open any maps on my mac that I have downloaded from various sites, and this unit comes with very little info. Is there a SDAR help group or something for this? Anyone want to talk on the phone? Would you mind? Thanks! Justin bacchussd@gmail.com
Goofy Footer 539 Posted October 16, 2012 I can't help with large regional maps because I don't use them buuuuut... try this thread specifically post #9 - http://dualsport-sd....__1#entry127668 I just use my GPS for tracks I've created or downloaded (mainly from dualsportmaps.com). I hope that helps, if not, post up with more questions.
Bubbagums 42 Posted October 16, 2012 My unit came with the maps installed. Are you looking to upload "tracks" to your unit?
CL300CAPT 0 Posted October 17, 2012 I recently bought the 76Cx as well. Mine came with no maps except base map, which is pretty much useless. They want you to spend $89 to buy city navigator or one of their other products. I don't plan on buying those maps, but will just use pre-loaded tracks for rides instead. Justin bacchussd@gmail.com I'll find my old Roads and Recreation CD and load you, and whomever else, up with old/outdated but "good enough/free" maps for the western states.... If you want something more slick/current and also want the ability to "find" preloaded points of interest like gas stations, etc. and/or create routes then you'll need to drop the ~$100 for City Navigator NT which will be personal to you with an unlock code.... slagnado 0 Posted October 18, 2012 I don't have this GPS but I have a mac and I recall having to convert the format for it to work. I can relate.....I want to throw my GPS away. I rarely use it and just wish it was easier to use. Good luck! When you figure it out can you help me?
