tntmo 910 Posted October 3, 2012 A piece of film (does anyone use camera film anymore?) works the same way, and if you are old enough to still have pieces of film around then you already have a fork seal cure.
996Pilot 0 Posted October 3, 2012 Really old film is in a large case and sold by the megabyte. New film is in a much smaller package and sold by the gigabyte
eddie 0 Posted October 3, 2012 Motion Pro makes a low budget tool reminiscent of the old "film trick." Seal Mate
kkug 147 Posted October 3, 2012 I cut a strip from a milk bottle-- works fine. Fixed my leaky seals on my 800. Been leak free for 20K.
mctrails 38 Posted October 3, 2012 A business card works also, kind of, but it is a one time use as is gets saturated with oil.
Suspenders 43 Posted October 18, 2012 Once the seals are starting to wear out they tend to suck air and dirt in and out and then oil starts blowing out. Many times if dirt got in the seals were already going bye bye. It is a good idea to clean under the dust seals once in a while to keep dirt out of the seals. No WD as it swells seals, maybe some silicone spray but cover the brake disc.
