Crawdaddy 96 Posted August 21, 2012 I'm thinking about riding from Barstow to Laughlin the weekend before Thanksgiving.....11/16-18/12 Here's the thread I started a couple of years ago with all the info on the itinerary/gps tracks/etc.......I think we wound up with ~30 folks that year......I put a lot of work into the logistics of that ride/developing those tracks.....so I'd likely follow a similar template again this year (I have a few new wrinkles I could roll into the tracks now that I've had a couple more years to explore the area): Trip Report: I realize it's the weekend before LA-B-V so that may eliminate some folks.....I head over that particular weekend because it's the best weekend for me (once I arrive I generally just stay the entire week with family across the river in Bullhead City, AZ.)........the last few years I've made my way from Bullhead City to Sandy Valley on the Sat after Thanksgiving to meet the LA-B-V crew......then I've ridden into Vegas with those folks/attended the banquet.....then I make my way back to Bullhead on Sunday..... Just starting this thread to gauge interest.....if enough folks are interested I may be persuaded into setting it up again as a free, or nominal fee, CORE Club Ride. Guest Crusty Posted August 21, 2012 I did this ride a in the worst weather possible, it was Awesome at times, 600 miles in 2 days. Left Carlsbad at 5:00 am froze riding to Barstow. It was "AWESOME" finishing the ride to Avi Casino in the dark. It was the groups first dual sport ride. Ride report here. IMHO keep it simple, run the same tracks as last time and leave the accommodation logistics to the individual. Its been a hot summer, that snow looks like a fun experience.... Also, if anyone wants to stay an extra day, I can show you around the Laughlin/Bullhead area (dirtbike style) on Sunday and you can ride back to Barstow on Monday.....lodging in Laughlin Sunday - Thursday is REALLy cheap........especially if you book months ahead of time........whatever works best for everyone......
