ADV Bum 205 Posted May 11, 2011 For what it is worth... I am considering a bid. I can understand. Good year Klr with a very versatile side car. Seems to be built well and not that far away. If I could it would of been gone already.
bluefin2na 0 Posted May 11, 2011 The side car kits can be found for under 2 grand. A good KLR runs about 2,500 to 3,800 bucks, Do the math.
ADV Bum 205 Posted May 11, 2011 Tommy, I did some quick research and math. $2,000 side car $3,500 06 KLR $ 500 subframe $2,000 Front end upgrade $ 500 Misc parts/ tools $2,400 Hours - 80 hrs/40hrs 2weeks @ $30 hr = $10,900 Give or take
bluefin2na 0 Posted May 11, 2011 there is a company, I forget the link that make those kits just for KLRs. I think its in seattle and the price is far below 10grand. When you have the KLR guru himself here in SD, Eagle Mike, and his crew, One weekend and thats a done deal.

KLXBEN 0 Posted May 12, 2011 What the heck kind of front end is that? How is that any better than stock? Looks home made to me.
pyro 1 Posted May 12, 2011 No need for gear if you have a sidecar holding you up.
Czechsix 1 Posted May 12, 2011 What the heck kind of front end is that? How is that any better than stock? Looks home made to me. Old style leading link front end, pretty common on hacks and heavy old bikes.
Papa Smurf 0 Posted May 13, 2011 The leading link front end is 2 grand through DMC sidecars. If you already own a DRZ, doing it yourself is cheaper, if you have the time. But doing a quick look at the sidecar page, fis 10 grand buy it now price is fair. If the bike runs good and is as good as it looks, it is not a bad deal. You may be able to do it all yourself cheaper, but this one is done. I wouldn't buy it, but it is cool.
